Close Combat: The Bloody First is now available DRM-free. Get the game now to receive a free copy of Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far. Previous games from the series are all available 75% off. Both offers are valid until October 10th, 2pm UTC.

Close Combat: The Bloody First is the latest release in the critically-acclaimed Close Combat series, and the first using the new 3D Archon engine. With this Close Combat: The Bloody First combines classic Close Combat tactical gameplay with battles fought across a wide variety of diverse 3D landscapes including craggy ridgelines, narrow valleys and dense villages. The switch to 3D also allows an increase in the level of detail (e.g. the specific types of ammunition used by each weapon are now modelled) with more realistic movement and projectile physics.

Following the career of the famed US 1stInfantry Division (forever known as 'The Big Red One') Close Combat: The Bloody First visits the battlefields of Tunisia and Sicily for the first time, as well as covering the Normandy campaign.
"Big, Red Oooone. Patch on... my shoulder. Pickup your weapon and fooollow me..."

;) Neat!
low rated
Ah excellent.
The Big Red One is such a masterpiece
Does the game comes with a scenario editor like in the previous CC GAMES?
Wonderful to see it release the same day on GOG as elsewhere, some of the previous Slitherine games have had several months' delay, making me get them elsewhere due to being unsure if they'd be coming to GOG.
@GOG staff: Why don't you guys make a shelf entry for Close Combat 1? It's included in the extras of 9!!!! different games.
Holy crap! Can't wait to play this once the work day is over!

So is TES 2: Daggerfall... and it has an entry. Fair point. It may be because they don't officially provide support for it.

Well, that escalated rather quickly... you mean GB :P. Yeah, I agree and I get your point, but I don't think storage efficiency is a concern for GOG. If that were the case, they would have kept LZMA archival in their installers, instead of falling back to regular deflate.

Yes GB, I have lots of TB stuff at work and kinda stuck with it... (We do have like 6TB RAM, no kidding)
I must be seeing things, but Close Combat 2 actually looks prettier in a way, than this particular release. A greater air of fun in a sense.
Is there a mega mod that merge the campaigns of CC 2-5 ?
