The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ – story rich, adventure fantasy title and an official adaptation based on the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien is now available on GOG!

It’s time for you to play as Gollum on his quest to retrieve his Precious. You will need to climb the mountains of Mordor, sneak around Mirkwood and make difficult choices. Who will gain the upper hand: the cunning Gollum or the innocent Smeagol?

After being corrupted by the Ring over hundreds of years, Gollum has developed exceptional agility and sharp wits. Use his unique skills to explore and infiltrate legendary locations and dizzying heights. Find your way past the Orcs as you climb the Dark Tower of Barad-dûr and give the Elves the slip in the mysterious Mirkwood.

While Gollum is no fighter, he is more than capable of strangling a careless enemy when the opportunity presents itself… or of finding a more creative and less risky way of getting out of trouble.

Additionally, alongside The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™, you grab its DLCs: Original Soundtrack, Emotes Pack, Sindarin VO, Lore Compendium, Art Exhibition, or pick the Precious Edition which contains all of the above besides the Emote Pack.

Grab The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ now!

That seems accurate, given how the game is received so far...

Well yeah so far mostly negative reviews and a few "decent" ones.
Oh yeah and performance is pretty shitty too with RT on, guess they really counted on using DLSS lol.

It is not getting good reviews so far, no. here is one from Gmeranx - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yf8U6Y7oKTU

words used are "mindnumbeling simple", "boring", "bad controls", "mindless enemies", "limited options", "no sense of danger" and so on. the main point, the stealth, is bad.

Yup, I was looking forward to it, willing to buy it day one, but after the reviews, I will wait at least a year till they patch it up.

"In my roughly 11 hours of playtime on "Performance" mode on a PlayStation 5, the game crashed over 120 times (yes, I counted; masochist, remember?), averaging about one crash every five minutes. After my 20th-or-so crash, I got the dreaded "save data corrupted" message, only to realize I'd lost half a day's progress upon reloading. In multiple other instances, game-breaking bugs--such as a companion I was charged with protecting instantly dying over and over again for no discernible reason--forced me to restart entire levels, losing significant progress. Finally, during an especially tedious and time-consuming puzzle, the crashes became too frequent to possibly make it to the next checkpoint in time. Determined though I was to get through to the end and make these setbacks feel worthwhile, I threw in the towel at 40% completion, defeated."
It looked pretty bad and ill-conceived from the get go - who wants to spend a whole game playing as Gollum? And it looks like it's even worse than I feared. The reviews, the footage, all terrible. A pity, since I always find unique not-Peter Jackson movie based (as much as I love those films) interpretations of Middle-Earth interesting. Add the really crappy decision to lock off the elvish language for extra money, and they'll basically have to give the game away with bags of chips for me to pick it up.

OMG, I just imagined 100 employees of Daedalic Entertainment watching what is happening right now. Poor guys. Someone made a bad decision to release very unpolished game.
And I was always a huge fan of their games.
Honestly I would prefer 5 games like Deponia released over the span of 5 years than 1 like Gollum released once in 5 years…
Pff… too big of a leap for such company.
I hope they continue releasing remastered versions of their old games.

A similar thing happened to King Art games. Both of the Book of Unwritten tales were very very good (I bought the part 2 twice), but then they switched genre and they lost me…

The game already has a 1 out of 5-star review on GOG. This is not going to look good.

That's a 10 month old trailer reaction.

I am not saying this game is good, but whether it is or not, that video isn't relevant to being any kind of current review of it.

I would; something like Ghost of a Tale but with Gollum sounds like a great idea to me. I know Daedelic will mess it up, though, so I'm not interested for that reason.

If it is more your style, I noticed a new demo from Sunless Seas developers that got hidden in the newspocolypse.

Yea I know its kinda late but I check the reviews on steam and they are not happy with it. its as almost as of Mack knew that this was going to be a train wreck. I mean I like the guy, hell I have even spoken to him at one point and he was chill.
Sadly, this game was destined to be a trainwreck from the first glimpses they showed of it. Nothing about it filled me with confidence, but this seems even worse than I imagined it would be.
