The lives of others.

Beholder, a clever strategy/adventure where spying on your tenants is the least of your sins, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 57% launch discount.

As a state-appointed manager, you can't afford to show your tenants any leniency: All their dirty secrets, unpatriotic tendencies, and unlawful activities must be observed, cataloged and reported to the totalitarian regime. If you ever get second thoughts, however, just ask yourself: should your family pay the price for your neighbors' insubordination?

Play as the mysterious ex-landlord and get another perspective on this darkly satirical setting with the Blissful Sleep DLC, launching at -32%.

The 32/ 57% discounts will last until July 18, 4PM UTC.

NOTE: The Blissful Sleep DLC is only available for Windows and Mac.

Spy on this informative trailer.

amok: For those not sure about this game, there is a 1 hour long demo over at Big Fish Games
...Which apparently comes with their "handy game manager app". Thanks, but no thanks.
Surprised nobody picked the starting sentence up:

"The Lives of Others" (2006) is a great movie. (The gratest german film I've ever watched)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405094/ - In 1984 East Berlin, an agent of the secret police, conducting surveillance on a writer and his lover, finds himself becoming increasingly absorbed by their lives.

Just because nobody commented upon it doesn't mean that nobody got the reference. ;)

rgnrk: So many people complaining about it because they have it on humble already. Well, so did I... on the wishlist. And I probably would have owned it there, had it been drm-free. But it was not.

muntdefems: What do you mean? It was DRM-free on the Humble Indie Bundle 18.

It's true that the Humble Store only offers a Steam key, though. I hate them for these kinds of things, that clearly show exactly how much do they care for DRM-freedom.
Actually they have just ended a DRM-free sale with 14 (I think) pages of DRM-Free titles!

rgnrk: Yes, I thought it might have been something like that. I think they pulled that one with Skullgirls also. Unfortunately for me, I don't usually check their bundles as I often already have several of the games and I would also be supporting drm'd ones.

And yes, most of the new indie games on humble are not drm-free, even when they're also released on GOG. And why wouldn't they do a drm-free version on the store when they are drm-free on bundles? Only they'll know, but it prevents me from buying there. In all my time there I only saw a couple of the games in my wishlist get a drm-free version. And on one instance, after asking the developers, one of the games was actually drm-free for a while already but humble never showed it (so I'm always willing to know whether a game actually has a drm-free installer, even if it's not listed as it on the store; maybe I can reduce my wishlist if that's the case).
What are talking about? They have 62 pages of DRM free titles, (1233 DRM-Free games!) just enable the DRM-Free filter!

Yep, out of 265 pages overall. That's less than a quarter of what they've got for sale.

Plus, I'd daresay most of those 1,233 DRM-free games were released quite a long time ago. The fraction of their new releases that have a DRM-free build has been way lower than that as of late. And the worst of all is that some of those releases do have DRM-free versions elsewhere, or had been DRM-free in a bundle of theirs.

So yeah, they don't care much about DRM-freedom.
Just bought the game + DLC...no free soundtrack for GOG...
*sigh*

Sure.

If nobody says nothing about the movie the chance to advertise it is gone, which is a pitty...
So here it is, again: the film slowly builds up - you'll get a grand finale, one of the grandest. "Unforgiven" (1992) comes to my mind, as something similar.

They care a whole heluva lot more than steam, but yeah, it's mostly on the developers themselves at that point, as their thing is charity much more than profit, which is why they have to draw in the steam crowd to compensate...Unlike gog who's thing is DRM-Free, and steam which is fuck off, we got your money! :)

No, it's not a pity since this is a gaming thread and not a movie thread. Advertizing a movie in it would simply be off topic.

Duly noted - movies in "Movies for gamers" only.
