You can get the demo at:
http://www.avernum.com/avernum3/index.html

It should be possible to use a save from the demo with the full game.
A assume selling manual for extra $$$ is a mistake, right GOG ?
@tburger - if I understood correctly, it's rather guide/walkthrough than instruction manual... But still, seeing that even such tiny stuff as wallpapers and icons, which were previously always attached to games sold on GOG for free, are now available only for buyers of "extras", is not a good sign.

Anyway - I'm really glad that we've got it released, it's a great series, and first three games are indeed quite archaic, playing in those "improved" versions is much more pleasant (not to mention about great model of character development - one of my favourite in all cRPGs I've played so far). I think that this time I won't wait for bigger discount and buy it even today - those games are huge and guarantee a lot of fun).

Now I only wish that Jeff Vogel could make remake(remaster?) of Geneforge series... That would be great!

No, they're listed separately. I copied and pasted the info a few posts up.

edit: Spiderweb's SSL certificate has issues as well. Leaving myself a note for later today so I'll send them an email about it.

Ah, ok, you're right, I've read only the description (where manual is not mentioned) and didn't pay attention to this "list" above it, thanks for letting me know!

Happy to see the Avernum trilogy completed; great games from a great indie developer! The sale is great too, a good opportunity for people who haven't played a Spiderweb game before.
Instabuy. Been waiting for a long time.
I was actually expecting this to not be out before winter had gone, so this is a delight!
Having to pay extra for the manual is pretty low. I hope this is a mistake.
could someone please explain how this game (series) compares to other, more mainstream RPGs? I mean, these really look very good yet they seem to be considered rather obscure :)

I don't give a damn about graphics (I like it), so what's so different about these compared to for example Divinity Original Sin or Pillars of Eternity?

thanks! :)

Depends! If it is 3-4 pages with some text & screenshots in it then FU! But if it is a good manual with some hand drawn pictures/graphics in it then I wouldn't mind to pay extra for it.

Has anyone a bit more detailed information about this "Extra"-Package? Thanks! :)
