AngerForce: Reloaded is now available DRM-free. Get it 55% off until September 27th, 1pm UTC.

AngerForce: Reloaded is an action-packed vertically scrolling shoot'em up game that pays homage to the classics of 90’s arcades. This high octane experience is set against the backdrop of a 19th century human world that has seen the outbreak of a robot rebellion.

OHMYGODJCABOMB: I really want to see the explanations from the person who decided that adding this game to the catalog is a good idea.

It was released two years ago on Steam and has only 288 positive reviews (which is very small relative to the scale of the Steam audience), many of which are not even Steam purchases, but keys activations (I don't say that they were given away for free but they probably were).

This game has a community wishlist entry with just ONE vote:

Why is it here? What makes this game so special? Why did you decide that this game is less "niche" than many other games that you rejected?
I think most of us want some actual answers! other than the ''Too Niche'' excuse, Which they love to use to brush aside games of a similar genre like this. In general, the problem isn't that this is released which would be a good thing in general for the sake of giving choice but the notion of why this game but not others in the same category is beyond ridiculous.
Well, this game is not Mushihimesama, but I'll take it.
Thanks, GOG!

Oddeus: Just out of curiosity: Why do we always get vertical shooters? Why not some horizontal ones? Jets ´n Guns or similar.
Skimming through the GOG catalog, I count eleven horis:

198X (well, just a little)
Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender
BLAZING STAR
Cuphead (partially)
Humans Must Answer
IRONCLAD
Monkey King: Master of the Clouds
PULSTAR
REVOLVER360 RE:ACTOR
Sine Mora EX
Stargunner

eleven verts:

AngerForce: Reloaded
Caladrius Blaze
Crimzon Clover: World Ignition
Raiden Legacy
Raiden III Digital Edition
Raiden IV: OverKill
Raiden V: Director’s Cut
Raptor
Symphony
TWINKLE STAR SPRITES
Tyrian 2000

and one game that's both:

Astebreed Definitive Edition

So, not much difference.
That said, I would love to see Deathsmiles, Gundemoniums, Neko Navy, & R-Type Dimensions (amongst others) show up on GOG someday...
