Microids is on a mission to bring us another installment of Agatha Christie’s iconic tales – Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile is now available on GOG, alongside Digital Deluxe Upgrade and Digital Deluxe Edition!

A peaceful cruise on the Nile is disrupted by a terrible crime. Thankfully, famous detective Hercule Poirot is onboard. Meanwhile, a private detective is tracking a murderer, leading her from London to Majorca, New York, and finally to Egypt.

The two investigations collide at Abu Simbel. The dynamic duo will solve a complex case full of twists and turns. But the story doesn’t end with the book, and it still holds many mysteries and twists, even for Agatha Christie fans.

Now on GOG!

J.R.R. Tolkien - The Hobbit.

Bilbo, a peace-loving hobbit, embarks on an adventure to Lonely Mountain to help a group of dwarves steal back the treasure guarded by the Smaug. Meanwhile, a Strong Black Woman is tracking a flying lizard, leading her from Gondor to Rohan, Bree, and finally to Erebor.

Freaking seamless.

Here's an idea: if you want to make up a new story with a new protagonist, just make a new story with a new protagonist. Then I'd probably be interested. But when you highjack a classic and the author's name... yeah, you can take a hike.

This.

Also - I wish for the possibility to ignore games, like the feature on Steam, so that I could hide games like that. Would be very useful.

The Internet is full of echo chambers, I'm sure you can find one you'll enjoy.

But just to clarify, before someone else get's a panic attack, I'd consider this kind of thing equally stupid if someone shoehorned a new co-protagonist White McDudeman into a Miss Marple story. It's just that that's not the current tiresome fashion, so I'm poking fun at what is.

Well your response to "find another echo chamber" is pretty telling. Every moderated website where we go about our life without having to see posts of people upset over complete and total nothingburgers (to the point I didn't even realize who the characters are in the first place) like yours is an "echo chamber" to your likes.

No wonder the GOG forum was a mistake.

I'd say that completely altering the story being adapted, or at least grafting a new one onto it, is a valid point of concern to comment on, but sure, what do I know.

As for "my likes" - it never ceases to be hilarious how depending on the thread and subject matter people on both sides of this tedious culture war have numerous times considered me "the enemy". What a sad world we live in, where people can't process opinions they disagree with without immediately ascribing to the people expressing them the worst characteristics and believing them to be part of some "enemy group".

You can play the victim card all you want. The fact is YOU brought the "tedious culture war" here yourself. Now you're whining about the consequences of bringing it here.

I'm glad we can have this kind of civil discourse here :D

Anyway, isn't it wild how I'm only racist when classic work is being altered like this, and not, for example, when playing Uncharted: The Lost Legacy? It's almost as if the"racist" thing was a hastily applied lable based on nothing but emotional kneejerk reaction...

Anyway anyway, I'm done trying to explain myself. I have better things to do than worry what strangers on the Internet think about me. I only wanted to comment on the game doing something daft, I don't want to derail this thread. Everybody have a good one.

Well, I suppose she does not turn out to be Miss Marple, but I hold my judgment till after I played it. Maybe story and character will be a pleasant surprise. Maybe not. Who knows?
Wonder how long before a blue steps into this thread.
Yep, I think I'll pass on this one and put the money to some better use instead.
That Clair Obscur RPG that's supposed to release later today looks to be way more original and imaginative than this trite regurgitated checkbox-ticking slop.

This I am so tired of people/companies/studios tacking on a name of some author or just majorly rework classic for no real reason it gets annoying and concerning as if the media in question can't stand on its own or there is no faith in the project and/or idea working out otherwise
