Whale Rock Games are a young video game studio from Kiev. This talented team believes in the idea that being a real fan of your work helps the whole team reach great success. And after playing their awesome titles we would most certainly agree.

We're more than happy that 9 of their games are now available on GOG and you can grab them with discounts as high as -85%! These offers will last until December 12th, 2 PM UTC. Let’s explore what adventures are hiding behind these games’ names.

Time Lock VR 2 (-50%)
Incredible virtual reality title. In this action-adventure game you have to free the soul of the ancestor imprisoned by the sorcerer in a magic stone. To solve riddles, you will need to move in time, but be careful, at the time of moving something may go wrong. Get ready to explore, battle with dark forces and take part in fun puzzles!

Dofamine (-85%)
First-person sci-fi puzzle game where you must explore the labyrinth of riddles and investigate the apocalyptic event at the research facility following the experiments with the Higgs boson, or “the God particle”.

Synthwave Burnout (-80%) - Early Access
3D rhythm racing game with amazing and eye-pleasing synthwave aesthetics. An arcade journey designed to give you an enjoyable visual and sound experience. The lost highway awaits you to take you beyond the horizon. Relax and let the sounds of synthwave open the way into the realm of neon - feel like you're inside your favorite 80s sci-fi movie!

Cyberpunk SFX (-80%) - Early Access
An action adventure game that tells the story of synthetic life forms struggling for their right to exist. You must survive in a near-future world where the AI systems are considered by law to be “Genies” — malicious otherwordly creatures who must be destroyed along with their creators.

NeuraGun (-80%) - Early Access
It is not given to everyone to identify unidentified connections and entities, correctly prioritizing. However, in order to assess your ability in this matter, you must at least try. The NeuraGun puzzle game gives you this unique opportunity. Here you have to think a lot and act consistently. NeuraGun is a third-person science fiction puzzle game. You will have to go through a maze of mysteries that will lead him out of the tangled scientific complex. Only the most capable will pass the test and get out.

BranjoHello: Not intending to be snarky or anything but "desperate measures" is simply screaming from behind the dressing screen of these releases.
Understandable why a studio in Kiev would be a bit desperate in this day and age... but I agree all of these game could use some more polish. I think they mostly passed curation because of a "humanitarian" criterion. Perhaps the devs could use some sales now to stay afloat.

P-E-S: o.O

Just took a look at all the trailers, and they all look like janky shovelware with half of them still being in development... Yeeeeeeeaaaaaah. Might have been better to focus on making one decent game than a bunch of complete throwaway titles.

I think this is about 90% of the story with these titles...

Buyer beware. Even the most intriguing game, The Divine Invasion has some very critical negative reviews on Steam. Most people are talking about how broken the game is and how much function it is missing. But you'll see a bunch of short padded positive reviews before that. The whole thing seems sus.

I get it, supporting Ukraine is good, but I hope there are more devs over there than this as the games don't feel polished. They're also heavily broken as people have been saying, "shovelware." Definitely don't get any of these at full price. Whoever mentioned itch.io was right on track with this stuff.
These games don't seem very high quality to me
Other than the VR game...

... Whale Rock Games needs to remember that trailers are supposed to...

... get us interested in the games!

That means at least setting up the premise -- the basic context -- for what we're watching.

I can understand these are indie (and some are EA) but...

... watching some clearly unfinished systems and actions...

... with no context (either story or systems)...

... makes the games look like a publisher trying to cash in on unused proof-of-concepts that were lying around.

I couldn't make it through half of them! Just kept saying "what am I watching?" Ugh.

Ok, I'll go back to sleep
I don't mind these games releasing (though I dunno if it'll be financially worthwhile to have done so), I just wish indie games I actually want to buy would release here (like Remorse: The List or Night at the Gates of Hell). Granted, there aren't many on my list :P

Wow so many releases and such discounts in one hit. The second I saw they were a dev in/from Kiev, I just bought them all, I looked at the VR one and saw GoG did not say VR was mandatory, then I saw this thread, but again because the devs are from Kiev, in the cart they went.

Looking forward to checking them out :)
Nevermind, something went screwy with the page numbers.

RIP the curation of GoG.
For me 9 games, with lot of them in early access, discounted like this at the release looks like a scam.
I bet they will never quit the EA in a good stand.

Because you count Dofamine and Space Accident as two games.
More first-person puzzlers please, you should also try to get the 4-part Re-Think series and the like, thanks a lot for the acquisition, Gog all the same!

huan: VR game on GOG?? Well, there's first time for everything I guess (*)... I'll have to check that one.

(*) there are already few that SUPPORT VR as side feature, but none that are exclusively VR.
The system requirements don't mention a VR headset so that would lead me to assume that it's just VR recommended rather than exclusive. However, the store listing on Steam says it does require a headset. Not sure if the Steam page is outdated and they've added non-VR support or if GOG made a huge mistake.

Breja: "Cybernetic Fault is a satirical adventure game with an anti-science storyline."

So it's a Flat Earth Society sim? I'm really not sure what that's supposed to mean.
Hmm, it could be interpreted two ways. Are they satirising the anti-science crowd or is the story anti-science and satirising science and the "fools" who "believe" in it?

Ohh, they made We Are the Dwarves? That name only rings a bell because it seems to be regularly discounted by something like 95%.

Are they basically one game slightly tweaked and sold as two? A bit like Ninjabread Man and its various snowclones?

I nearly bought Space Accident a while ago as I like first person puzzlers, but the reviews put me off despite the low price.

What is this junk??

The videos look like the cheapest asset flips with a Gilson B. Pontes or Digital Homicide level of gameplay quality.

There was a time when GOG used to moderate their catalogue.
