I found out that F.E.A.R. can`t be found with the search function anymore, so it seems as if the game is forbidden for germans, too!
Luckily I bought it when it came to gog, so I still own it.

Heaven forbid. I might actually get time to play some games otherwise. ;)

While this does not affect me, I have to say, this GOG way of handling communication with customers is not good.

They do something that obviously is not going to be liked in the community, and see if someone notices. When someone does notice and a shitstorm follows, they rush in and apologize, playing the good guys role again.

They have learned nothing. Why not just tell in advance?

I think the Search just craps out on the game name, but let's be certain. Can you see the game page, or do you get a GOGbear 404?

No, it's the broken search function not managing dots. Search for platinum and you'll find it. Same problem with S.T.A.L.K.E.R and other games.

No. For some reason, entering F.E.A.R. in the search bar never worked. It's still there, though, in the "Shooter"-section. How long it'll stay there is another question.

Actually, that's because F.E.A.R. couldn`t be found from the get-go via the search engine. People have been complaining about that since the release day. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games have the same problem.

You can find the game on page 14 if you sort all games by bestselling.

The Shop-Site is still available for germans:

(actual, this link does NOT display an 404-Error...)

Well, I see the game page, but I already own it, so it might show up because I own it. If I didn`t own it, it maybe wouldn`t show the game page.
Has somebody, who already owns Mortal Combat or Commandos, tried to see the game page? I mean, somebody from germany, of course.
What fun it must be in release threads.

We have this awesome cool new game for sale, except you german and australian folks cannot buy it.
Soon there'll be DRM.
We all know that Australia is a nanny state when it comes to videogames.

Isn't the australian version of the witcher a sanitized version?

Could we consider that a softer form of region locking?
I'm a tech idiot, does anyone know for sure if GOG has any actual control over this? It seems to me if a country doesn't want a particular product available then they have the power to keep GOG from making it so. Of course there is always a way around that but at what cost? Maybe their hand is being forced. If they tell said country to 'fuck off' they might get the plug pulled on the entire web site. Again I don't know the technicalities of this but it seems like a valid possibility.
GOG, I usually try to be patient, forgiving and rational when you make decisions that not everyone like.
But not this time.
This time you really fucked it up. What the fuck were you thinking when you decided to hide games from Germans just because. Who the fuck gave you the fucking right to treat me as a fucking child like those hypocritical moral pricks of steam and BPJM.
Your so called crusade for DRM-freeness really starts to look just like another of those empty bullshit, big companies tell people to sedate them, so they can ram them their dicks in the ass!
For those of you who can read German and are interested in this topic, here's a pretty good article:
