Summer is a great time for vacations and trips to the pool, but for some people, summer means it’s time to hop in the car, head to the track, and do some racing!

If you are a fan of high speeds and tight corners but don’t want to put your car through the strenuous act of actually racing it, then racing games are a great way to feed the adrenaline junkie inside of you. Also, it is generally frowned upon to blow up the other racers, but in video games, that is a totally acceptable thing to do!

At GOG.COM, we have some awesome new racing games being added to the platform, as well as some fan-favorites that we wanted to highlight today to help celebrate these titles reaching the finish line.

Looking for a new racing game, but don’t know where to start? Maybe one of these games will check all of your boxes.

Street Racer

Street Racer is a classic racing title from the 90s that features kart racing mechanics that were extremely popular at the time. Pick one of the unique characters, snag power-ups, and drift your way to the finish line!

GRIP

When you think of racing, you typically think of a flat track, right? Well, in GRIP, your car can go on the walls and ceilings and you’ll need to master that mechanic if you hope to cross the finish line first! And if you can’t beat them outright, just blast them away with fun weapons in order to take the lead.

Urban Trial Freestyle

Are you more interested in two-wheel vehicles? Prefer precision over speed? Urban Trial Freestyle might be for you! You’ll need to customize your bike with parts if you hope to beat all of this game’s courses as you drive, jump, and backflip your way through platforming-like levels.

Urban Trial Playground

Another installment in the Urban Trial series, this one takes players from the dark city of Freestyle and places them in sunny California. In this one, you’ll again need to master physics to get through the courses, and customizing your bike will be necessary if you want to find the perfect lines!

Mashed

Pure racing games are great, but if you find yourself needing more, why not throw some guns into the mix? In Mashed, you can do just that across 13 different environments. So lock, load, and strap in!

And here are some cool racing games already present in our catalog:

STAR WARS Episode I: Racer

Prefer your racing games a little more… otherworldly? Star]https://www.gog.com/game/star_wars_episode_i_racer">Star Wars Episode 1: Racer lets you pilot a podracer across many different iconic landscapes from the Star Wars universe. There are over 20 tracks and podracers to choose from, so you’ll have plenty of options as you go for the gold.

Driver: Parallel Lines

If racing isn’t for you, but you are still looking to drive a variety of cars at high speed, Driver]https://www.gog.com/game/driver_parallel_lines">Driver: Parallel Lines is definitely worth checking out. With over 80 customizable cars, this open-world driving game lets you explore New York City as you wheel and shoot your way through a variety of missions.

So, there you have it, a quick look at some of the new racing titles coming to GOG.COM, as well as a highlight for some of the games already available (Star Wars Episode I: Racer and Driver: Parallel Lines)!

If you have been looking for a racing game to get the blood pumping, any of these titles should help with that!

What do you think? What are some of your favorite racing games? Plan on checking any of these out? Let us know down in the comments!
So is Mashed fully loaded the only version of Mashed game on the store?
I want to know since i will probably buy the game then if it's fully loaded version.

It will probably itch the gaming race destruction itch.
But i wonder if you destroy them do they stop respawning?

Fonzer: Why? Controllers are good for some games like racing and fighting, as long as it's properly configured for the game.
I do rather play some games with controllers than keyboard since it feels better.
Meh, I actually believe that keyboard is objectively superior tool for playing fighting games, but you hit the spot with second statement: using controller for some games just feels subjectively better.

Crimson-X: Is there any dlc that GRIP is missing or does it have everything?

Mr.Mumbles: The only thing that seems to be missing is the DeLorean DLC, which may be due to a license issue now. *shrug*
I made a post above yours lol

I'm not too worried since they are just skins anyway and not like new tracks.

GOG.com: What are some of your favorite racing games?
Test Drive Unlimited is awesome, especially with mods. Sadly they introduced rubberband enemies in the second, I hate that...

Back in the day I loved the NFS series, until Underground, where I lost interest. Porsche had a best driving physics of any non-simulation game, IMO. Screamer 2 and Screamer Rallye were also a lot of fun.

From racing games on GOG, why aren't Redout Solar Challenge and FlatOut 1+2 mentioned in the OP? They're great, and even on sale.
Wohoo! +1 for more racing games on GOG! :)
Street Racer, GRIP and Mashed all seem to mention multiplayer support in the descriptive text but have only Single-player listed under Game Features.
Okay i've seen the Mashed gameplay video it resembles something like micromachines.
If anyone can confirm whether the version of Mashed on GOG is the original or the Fully Loaded one, please do! The store description seems to refer to the original, while the screenshots in the store page (including things that are only present in FL such as nightime for certain tracks) and this announcement actually refer to Fully Loaded.

I would gladly buy it again (I got the OG on Steam) if it is indeed the Fully Loaded version that they just released! That game rocks and it would be a shame to not see the new, better version get a release.

Maxvorstadt: Nice to see those games here, but sadly one needs a controller for most of these games. When will developers learn, that controllers and PC gaming are not compatible?
Well, at least many goggers will have fun with those games.
How have you ever played PC racing games? Keyboard? Mouse? Trackpad?

In the ancient times, PC gamers used to play racing games with analog joysticks, or even wheels+pedals.

Nowadays, analog gamepads have replaced the need for analog joysticks (for racing games, at least).
In the ancient times, this PC gamer used to play racing games with the keyboard.

Nowadays, this ancient PC gamer still plays racing games with the keyboard. Right-handed curser keys to boot.

Additionally, I really enjoy the very color-ful FlatOut.

Is Grip similar to Rollcage?

Playing computer games since the early 1980s. The vast majority, VAST, were being played with keyboard. Including racing. Rarely you would find one owning an analog joystick for racing games as there was very limited support for them in such games. There was more support for using a mouse for racing games than analog joystick.
I now tend to play modern driving games with analog gamepad. If the game is properly made, there is no reason for not using a keyboard if that's what you want.
Tempted to buy some Urban Trial, haven't played any of that in years, really fun.

I have Grip and Redout on that other system, they are both fun racing games, and for this price?!

I do prefer sim games overall, especially older ones like the Race 07 series, Colin McRae and WRC (by Evolution), which are still highly playable (and quite cheap these days). Some MotoGP as well. Although I only race on the easier settings, because I don't have the time to spend hours learning a track and adjusting the settings.
GOG team, please clarify. Mashed -or- Mashed: Fully Loaded?
