Any reason I should download a game again because GOG updated the installer structure? Does this add to
compatibility or stability? Just wondering.

Don't bother. There is no change to the included files.

The new shortcuts seem to do something with galaxy when they launch the game, probably how they track how many hours you've played.
Thanks for your replies, guys.

I did have the notion that the updated installers wouldn`t make any difference, apart from Galaxy maybe, so I`ll
probably not bother with downloading again.

Still, it would be nice if GOG stated why they updated the installers.

Those are indeed internal / online only changes, not even an 'updates' per se. We need to slowly migrate titles to newer structure, so any that future builds require less manual work.

Thanks for the information:)
I'm seeing some installers updated to have the 'galaxy installer' included... I wish they wouldn't.
Oh it does change things, just not for the better.

They broke innoextract compatibility and in extension the WINE wrappers:

Stay away from the new installers.

In some cases the new installers (offline) also implemented several languages so that you can chose which one to install. The installer language also can be chosen in the new installers (afaik this is true for every new installer).

It would be nice if GOG could once and for all tell us what's the real reason for this is but I guess we'll never see such a post.
