Let's bring the tip of the Iceberg into the forum...
Stars in Shadow is worth every penny It's my favorite 4x game currently. It's the right mix between "fun" and "deep" and it "can be played entirely in one weekend" (vs "one game takes a month").
Well, I would like to buy The Lost Crown and The Last Crown: Midnight Horror here, but I can't find them.

May finally pick that one up. Will be interesting to see how it compares to Master of Orion 2.
What are peoples experiences with Star Dynasties and Mahokenshi ?

I found it terrible and couldn't get into it (Dynasties) at all.

But, disclosure, I also say that about the EU games. Star Dynasties was even more family/relation/person-centric than I remember the EU games being.

Stars in Shadow is pretty good game. Simple to learn, but hard to master. Imo. It's interesting how they have human faction starts with no home world.

Human faction is the hardest, because it has some significant diplomatic malus (because raiders are humans), unless you're 'exploiting' one mechanic that only human players use and AI doesn't.

The Gremak similarly are tough for having a diplomatic malus and few perks (and you can't reasonably use their real bonus, slavery-whipping, unless you want everyone to hate you). Tinkers also have a tad of that with harmonization, but to a much, much lesser degree.

This. We have all of the Dark Fall games here, why not the others by the same developer?

Star Dinasties delivers what it says in the box. Everything revolves around family and the closest lieutenants. If you ever wished to be in the shoes of, say, Leto Atreids, you can. You can leave to the game the creation of your family or use a points system to tailor it to your needs. There are armies, war, lots of events, vassals... The tutorial recommends not losing much honor. There are some similarities to Crusader Kings and Sengoku, but this game, again, is much more about your family, lineage, and entourage. The relations with characters from other Houses matter: you are not dealing with nations, but rulers and their sucessors and the people in their service.
