Are you ready for some fierce card-core action? Today, CD PROJEKT RED officially announced the Public Beta for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. Scheduled to begin May 24th, the Public Beta will be available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

“Public Beta is the next step in the game’s development process, one that we’d be honored to continue alongside everyone who’s been with us thus far,” said Benjamin Lee, Development Director at CD PROJEKT RED. “It’s also a chance for many new gamers to play GWENT for the first time and we’re looking forward to making the game even better with their help,” added Lee.

GWENT’s Public Beta is a fresh start for everyone. Card collections and player progress will reset to ensure gamers begin on equal footing. Everyone who participated in the Closed Beta will receive Card Kegs, as well as other in-game rewards for their activity. Additional information regarding Closed Beta participation rewards is available <span class="bold">here.

The switch from Closed to Public Beta will entail a short technical transition period starting May 22nd. Until the start of Public Beta on May 24th, game servers will be offline for maintenance. During this time, GWENT’s <span class="bold">Facebook and <span class="bold">Twitter channels will provide updates on the game’s status.

Can we sync the account with psn, and play on both with the same progress in open beta?

arghhhhhhh Can;t play anymore !

I know it's for a short while, I'm just such a Gwent addict I went to play just now and was sad to be unable to play

Looking forward to the next phase though

It's just a couple of days. You can check the new cards and the reworks and indulge in some theorycraft.
Personally I'm concerned about poor Shoop. He'll need physical therapy from smashing all the kegs players will get.

woot a wipe so that means all those damn decks I lost from my friend destroying the cards will come back and i can start fresh! great!.

Pc Gamer says that we should get a copy of The Witcher 2 for participating in the beta, yet I don't see it. Maybe because I own it? Anyway article here, maybe it helps someone.

I got an e-mail from them and gave my copy away as I already preordered the witcher 2 back in the day. :)

I was wondering about that too because I played the closed beta on my PC and I was hoping that when I'm playing on my ps4, I wont just start as a beginner with no kegs whereas I'm level 25 on my PC so I should get like 40 kegs in total.

Well I read the article and I think you forgot that you have to sigh in to your GOG account on 29th may at 8am ET to get your free copy of Witcher 2. Anyway, I don't mind not getting the free copy because I already bought Witcher 2 on Steam. But hey, I would gladly accept free stuff.
