Hello everyone,
So I bought Battle Chasers: Nightwar on GOG. This game is also available for purchase on Steam.
I added this game that I purchased from GOG as a non-steam game to my steam library
However, steam treats it like some random unknown game that isn't available on steam, and by that I mean there is no game art for the icon, nor are there any achievements or anything like that. It is completely blank.
Is there any way for me to get Steam to recognize the game, since the same game is sold on its platform?

I have the same issue with Owlboy and any other games available on both platforms.

I have attached images so you see what I mean

If you really want achievements, just make up your own.

Every so often, just shout out the following:

*BING* You killed 10 enemies.
*BING* You walked 500 steps.
*BING* You have 20 Inventory items.
*BING* You spoke to 30 people.
*BING* You combined 2 items to make another item.
etc

It's not just the achievements but the artwork as well, it just looks very bland when it is blank as shown in the images above.
Also if you dont have an actual response to the post, please don't comment an obnoxious set of lines that form a subpar joke
I'm sure there are other people who have the same question as I do and they may appreciate an actual answer too

Because all you do is adding a path to game exe/launcher to steam client. It doesn't add said game to your library.

So you are saying it can't be done then?
The link you sent me is just adding non-steam game to library, doesn't describe how to get it connected with achievements and artwork

This will only add a shortcut to your game in the Steam client. This will not allow you to download updates for your game through Steam, nor allow you to use this game as proof of ownership for your Steam account.

What's difficult to understand in there? You're adding a shortcut to the game so you can launch it from Steam client. You're not adding it to your Steam library so you're not going to get usual game page because you don't own the game on steam. You will not get achievements that are on steam, you will not get cloud saves that are on steam, you will not get trading cards that are on steam, you will not get anything that's part of services steam provides.

You can't as you don't own the game on Steam. To get Steam achievements and game info you need to own the game on Steam.

But you don't see extra artwork when playing the game. You see the game itself.
Also, who was making a joke? All achievements are, is someone saying you've done an action. And you can tell yourself that, anyway.
I think the reverse is easier. Run the games through Galaxy 2.0. Including steam games.

Mish3alinho: ...
GOG games are not the same as Steam keys, adding a GOG game to Steam doesn't mean you get the features a Steam key does. If you want Steam features (Steam achievements and etc.) you'll have to buy a Steam key.
