Hi

I am downloading some of my latest games bought from GoG to save them to my external drive but I am having problems with 2 of them:

- Mafia II: Director's Cut
- Dishonored: Death of the Oursider

In both cases when downloading one of the executables the download starts but the second one stops, then shortly after it gives a failed download.
If I give it a try again, it advances a little and the same thing happens.

It only happens with one of the files, the rest files of the game (and other games) are perfectly downloaded.

The files that are failing are:

- Mafia II: Director's Cut -> Mafia II: Director’s Cut (Part 3 of 3) (Windows, Spanish)
- Dishonored: Death of the Oursider -> Dishonored®: Death of the Outsider™ (Part 7 of 8) (Windows, Spanish)

Any idea what is happening?

Many thanks.

More information, the executable of "Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon" also fails me but in this case it directly fails, nothing advances
Questions. Are you downloading from GOG galaxy, or from your browser? Which version of Windows? Have you tried doing a hard shut-down and restart? Have you given Windows and your firewall permission to install executable files?

These glitches do happen sometimes, but there's almost always a fix that doesn't require an advanced degree.

Hello.

First, thanks for your reply.

I'm downloading form browser (Firefox) on Windows 7 SP 1.

Yes, I have tried to close and open the browser, clear all the browser history, logout and login again in my gog's account, restart my computer andit keeps happening.

Yes, windows and my firewall have permissions to download executable files.
- Try again another time (tomorrow, next week, ...)
- Try another browser (Chrome?)
- Use Galaxy to download the offline installer (uninstall it afterwards if you like) <easier than Python below>
- Try the Python script (I think you can use it to download an individual game) -> https://github.com/Kalanyr/gogrepoc
Most routers & gateways like the occasional restart too.

Get away from Win 7 as soon as possible, it's about to be completely unsupported. Painful as it is, Win 10 is now a necessity, not an option.

GOG Galaxy really is the best way to d/l your games here., give it a try.

If you don't want Galaxy, Vivaldi is my favorite browser, and has a damn near perfect download manager.

If all else fails, uninstall completely, then install to a different file location. (I'm not smart enough to know why this works, but old enough to know that sometimes it does).

The OP has issues downloading all parts needed to install the game. At this point, there's not installing or uninstalling involved.

Yes, I'll try tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Hopefully it works

Many thanks to all.
Today I tried again to try to download the files that were not working and one of them was downloaded perfectly. The rest not.

After this I have tried with Galaxy as @teceemand @rabblevox told me and they have downloaded well (although a little slow).

Later out of curiosity I tried to download it again via browser and now it worked. It must be that the download by Galaxy has unlocked something.

Thank you very much for everyone for the help
Wait.... are you really saying that one must use Galaxy to unlock the download of some of the offline installers? Really? That is not what I call "DRM-free"!
Oh yeah, Galaxy is optional...not in some cases!!!

It’s unlikely, galaxy doesn’t do anything special. More likely there was issues on the connection or the website. There have been lots of problems with the website but over the last few months.

No, I am not referring to a DRM. Lately the web is having problems so this is probably one of those problems.

I imagine that when using Galaxy due to the download management and the used protocol it should have worked (I saw is that sometimes it downloaded at 1MB / s or even 0MB / s when the normal was 50 MB / s).
I imagine that later when I using the browser there would be some kind of CDN or cache of the request with Galaxy that will avoid accessing the resource itself and for that reason it did not give problems.
