darthspudius: Ignore The Last of Us, Dark Souls and all those tacky spikey haired JRPG's. You'll be doing the same repetitive crap for hours. I recommend the Yakuza games and Siren Blood Curse.
Considering I have like 800 fun filled hours of Dark Souls 1/2/SOFS on PC, and some of my favorite older games are console JRPGs... I'm going to take any recommendations from you with a grain or rather spoonful of salt.

How so? Mention the PS3 and only thing everyone mentions are those "We must spike up our hair and over throw the evil empire with stupid looking weapons and team mates who consist of over grown children in unisex clothing..." games. Is it not worth playing something different? or are you just sulking?

There is a sizable difference between mentioning something different from the norm, and this: "Ignore x, you'll be doing the same repetitive crap for hours".

Tongue-in-cheek sort of stuff doesn't convey well in text without some sort of descriptor or emoji. As someone that doesn't know you at all and can't witness your reactions I am going to go by exactly what you write. I'm not going to guess the thoughts or feelings behind it, I'm just going to go by what is plainly stated in writing.

The Last of Us is one I highly recommend! If you have the opportunity to play this one soon I say go for it, it is only on the Playstation. Great story and game. It is one of the few games I got emotionally invested in, loved it.

The story, audio etc are fantastic but the game play is the most half assed stealth game I have played in years. Modern classic my arse.
A few recommendations from my favourite genre, Hack and Slash Action Adventures:

God of War series
Even the PS2 and PSP titles are available on PS3 as HD Collections.

Bayonetta
A little bit overrated imo, and the PS3 version is a really bad port. But definitely a must-have-played.

Dante's Inferno
Doesn't stand out as much as the above mentioned titles, but it's a more than solid game. And if you like the genre as much as I do, you will have your fun with it.

El Shaddai - Ascension of the Metatron
Requires tolerance for its Japanese artsy-fartsy nature. Look it up on YouTube and decide for yourself if you like that style.

As for Action Adventures that are more on the adventurous side, besides the already mentioned ICO and SotC, I can recommend Majin and the forsaken Kingdom. A sorely overlooked gem.

Shooters:

Condemned series
Part 1 is also available on PC. Part 2 is console exclusive. Excellent games.

Shadows of the Damned
Japanese (meaning: absurd) content meets western gameplay mechanics. Gotta love it.

And last but not least:

Vanquish
If you're a 'shooter with gamepad skeptic', this one will cure you. The story is dull and not worth talking about, but the gameplay is so outstandingly good and satisfying. A prime example for perfect controlls.

personally speaking I thought Bayonetta was rubbish but it certainly was unique. One day we will get Vanquish on pc. *sigh*
I have focused on games I always enjoy replaying:

Resistance trilogy - one of my favourite FPS series, its sci-fi with an Earth-invasion theme.
Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection
Both games are quite unique in what they offer, not only in terms of gameplay but also in narration.
The atmosphere in these games are strangely relaxing.
Vanquish * - fast-paced and very cool sci-fi shooter.
Golden Axe: Beast Rider * - you ride dinosaurs and brutally slaughter your enemies.
Starhawk - a sci-fi game with both tps and space-shooter gameplay.
Yakuza 3 & 4- I like games that remind me of a good action movie, which these games do.
Gran Turismo 5 & 6 - lots of cars and tracks, with old-school game design.
Formula One Championship Edition - the best Formula One game on console in my opinion.

Games I recommend but haven't played more than once:
The Last of Us - the storyline was too "serious" for me but I really enjoyed the gameworld and gameplay.
Red Dead Redemption* - very unique gameplay elements and cool settings.
Siren Blood Curse - an interesting and unique horror game.
Zone of the Enders: HD Collection* - too much anime in the presentation but the gameplay was great fun.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron* - repetitive gameplay but very interesting settings and design.

* Not PS3 exclusive but exclusive to console.

Not to question your taste as its all subjective, but do you seriously think this is the Best RPG on PS3, I am curious to know what you liked about these since they are almost universally regarded as the worst by fans of the Final Fantasy series.

Also FF XIII trilogy is not console exclusive anymore as the & [url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/292140/]XIII-2 are available on Steam now with the last one probably coming soon as well. I haven't played these games or much of the Final Fantasy for that matter but am planning to do so when all the games in the trilogy are available on PC. :)

If you like large numbers and powerleveling, you could try the Disgaea series. I have only played 1 and 2, mainly because of disliking the DRM on digital downloads on later consoles.

Disgaea D2 is probably the best, as Disgaea 3 and 4 (especially 3) apparently reach a point in the later postgame where every single attack is a one hit kill, making HP, defense, and healing completely useless.
I think there is only one game I would like to play (or even better, play it on PC), The Last of Us.

I'm actually staying at a friend's house and he had a PS3, so I bought a second hand copy of the last of us and tried it out. I found it just OK; not bad but not particularly amazing either. Too much hype on that one, it's not like you're missing much there.
