TheBigLLS: As far as I remember they were rare and placed in such a way that it would not cut backtracking time by much.
Correct me if I am wrong... It was a while since I have played it.

SCPM: You're not wrong, there weren't that many warp points in the game. We'll have to wait and see how the new game handles the warp system, if more points were added, or if anything else changed.
Cool... Thanks for the info and remider.
Gonna wait for game reviews then and a cheaper price.
If this will be like original but with improved graphics and refined plot you can expect good soundtrack, mix of s-f and magic with a lot of underground exploration and jumping on rooftops with icy puzzles... kinda. Also bosses, clever, huge epic bosses. ;p

SCPM: There was a kind of fast travel system in the original game, if you used the magic bottle on those swirly black things you'd sometimes find in the environment. The trailer for TAW showed the same warp system, but there's no telling yet if there will be more warp points or anything like that.

Huh? There was exactly one warp point per island, not less than that; and most islands were small enough that you could cross them in 30 seconds or less by the time you've been to that island a few times. I remember it pretty well because I played the game circa last July.

Of course there were two or three bigger islands which did take longer than the rest but the warp system changed backtracking from a chore of major boredom +5 into a slightly annoying task.

TheBigLLS: Anyone knows if the backtracking will be ~10 min from place to place, like it was in the original?
If so, I just can't do it again.

I hope some fast travel system is implemented.
You mean like the fast travel system the original game had?

PaterAlf: I really think the old pixel style wasy much better. But I will probably still buy it, because I had a great time with Treasure Adventure Game and want to reward the developer for his good work.
Same here, I loved his game.
high rated

MarkoH01: English only? I was glad to find different translations for TAG on the devs website. Maybe this will be the case for this one as well. Anyway, glad to see this on GOG.
We will be releasing Language patches as we go post-launch (couldn't budget the localization before launch unfortunately). However, just like in TAG it's possible for fans to create custom translations and use them in the game.

dr.schliemann: Robit Games, I love you: Treasure Adventure Game is my favorite Metroidvania platformer.
We love you too! That is so nice to hear.

Without spoilers, there are multiple ways to "fast travel" in the new game and there are a lot of things we changed to make the flow of the game better and require minimal backtracking. Hope you'll give it a shot!

bhrigu: I wish they have done more improvement to the game than a mere aesthetic change-- like some new gameplay mechanics and extention of the storyline.

Waiting eagerly for the release.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised then. :)

Welcome and thank you for answering our questions.
That sounds "mouth-watering". I'm looking forward to get again into this adventure.
The shopping cart is loaded, and ready for checkout.

That sounds great. As long as you give the community the opportunity to translate the game I am sure this will happen sooner or later. It's totally understandable for me that it's too expensive for you to let this do by professionals.

Thank you for your reply. It is great to have devs interacting on the forum. :)
Wish all the best for the release.

Also you can ask GOG to make your profile a developer one. That magically makes the text in your posts orange. Now how cool is that. :p

Hooray, it's great when devs come and answer questions on the forum, we really appreciate it. If you ask someone at GOG they can give you orange "dev" text, like how GOG staff are blue.

I was wondering how comprehensive the "skin" support is? Would it be possible for example to use the old graphics? I understand that there will be some new things for which old art won't exist, but in theory is that possible?

Unfortunately skin support is only going to be available for the main character, the parrot and the boat. There may be... ways to alter the other game art but it won't be officially supported - at least not right away.

edit: Also, I will look into getting the Dev Flair - thanks!

Aww. Disappointing but understandable from a cost/benefit point of view. The original art is just so damn charming!

EDIT: I would actually pay if there was a retro graphics DLC. I love the old art style that much. No idea if that's something anyone else would pay for, mind.

Hooray! Will definitely give then.
There was a lot of potential in the original game that was hindered by backtracking, floaty controls and PC crashes.
So I am glad that at least 1 of this things is gone. I Taking your word for it, others issues I will need to test by myself :D

Hope the game does good so future projects can be funded!
Good luck!
