Yay, pre-order exclusives! Count me out. Never buying this.
Overpriced déjà vu with pre order "bonuses"?

MEH!

if people bother to read the description, they will see that the Shadowhand Armor DLC is NOT a pre-order exclusive, but a bonus. You also get it as part of the Digital Collector's Edition

Shadowhand Set – unique Shadowhand armor (hood, jacket, gloves and trousers) with great statistics, available only if you pre-order a game. It won’t slow you down as much as other armor sets in the same class.
Pre-Order exclusive, great statistics. I was interested until I read that part. The fact that I won't be able to obtain these items after release is an instant deal breaker for me.

And also the regular armor in the game actually "slows you down". :/

Right, sorry, correction: Pre-order and Collector's Edition exclusive. Oh, and it's not merely cosmetic, but actually affects gameplay. Still not buying it.
Yessss! I was hoping this would show up here. Not a fan of pre-order exclusives though, especially ones which affect game balance (though in my experience, they usually get released for free after a while anyway).

Same here. I hate incomplete games.

Ghorpm: Swapper is labeled as "platformer" and trust me - it's not. The game is 2D with a side view, there are some platforms that you can jump but the game is definitely not a platformer. It's all about puzzles, there is no intense jumping sections nor high precision jumps. But the label is still there ;)
A game does not need intense jumping sections or precision jumping mechanics to be a platformer. Flashback, Another World and Oddworld are all platformers, as is The Swapper.

Shadowcat: Please GOG, make it stop. If a developer sends you a description for a game which uses "isometric", and it's not, please just ask them to change it to "overhead" or "third person" or something which isn't blatantly wrong.
An "isometric view" is simply a gaming term that has become established to maintain some degree of continuity with its design predecessors such as Baldur's Gate, Diablo, etc. Of course, it's mathematically incorrect - modern games with full 3D engines don't use isometric projection, as they are displayed with a correct perspective, but in gaming terms, an "isometric perspective" refers to any gaming style based on a view at between roughly 20° and 45° on the vertical with a camera that is either freely rotatable or locked with the paths appearing diagonal in nature.

An "overhead" view generally refers to any view that is no more than 10-15° from a plan view. A third-person perspective is extremely vague and can mean anything from overhead views to isometric views to over-the-shoulder/behind-the-back views. In fact, the latter is usually what this term is understood to mean.

I agree with Amok. One of the item of the collector edition is provided as a bonus for those who pre-order the standard edition. Read description of both versions and you will see the difference.

Regarding the items themselves, based on how other games did it, I probably won't care much about it because it usually has a tendency to work as a cheat and dilute part of the challenge (the Saints Row DLC are a good example of that) so I won't feel like I'm losing something if I don't get it.

Regarding the fact that it affects the speed, I tend to believe that it goes in this "cheat" direction rather than having developers implementing slow down on all armours in the game just to sell a collector's edition bonus DLC. Will wait the first review anyway so we can see where is the truth instead of hypothetical speculations.

Indeed. I personally have no problem with pre-order exclusives as long as they're simple items that essentially serve as shortcuts. Of course, this assumes that the game doesn't require the pre-order exclusive to be enjoyable. If the in-game armours are painfully slow to the point of boredom, then we can complain about the pre-order exclusives. Personally, though, even if I were inclined to pre-order (which I won't), I probably wouldn't use this armour, simply because it throws off the intended balance of the game.
Sweet, preordered. I visited the website some time ago and was intrigued. Glad to see it coming to GOG. :)

Further, it is not at all unusual for differing armors to have effects on the game beyond just the armor level. Makes perfect sense that big, heavy armor would slow down movement versus leather armor or going without armor at all. So I don't think they are artificially penalizing the player for not purchasing the version with that special armor; it sounds like this particular armor has a lower slowness factor than other armors with similar capability. So many games do this - or something similar, like fatigue, etc. - that the speed factor is a non-issue.
Linux support and bought!

I'm sorry but I don't support single favored Operating System releases.
Give us a Choice

I think this preorder is to support the game devs?

I don't buy collector items. I just want the base game. I don't get something with the base game unless I pre-order it. Not going to happen.
