There are two statements on the gamepage:
First one says: Playable December 31, 2019.
Second one says: Planned Release Date: Summer 2019

So, if the game is released in summer, it will sit in your library until the end of the year, without being playable?
I've had this wishlisted for a while (well, ever since GOG put up a page for the game), as it does look extremely interesting, and the whole "combat game with strong focus on narrative" is a delightful premise I find intriguing, but this price is a bit steep for what I can afford, right now (for personal reasons, I don't think the game is worth less, or anything), and like p_dawg said, I'd rather pre-order when a FINAL release date had been announced, as this game has had a... rough development cycle, it had "final ETAs" multiple times, and I'm not sure I can trust this new December 31 2019 release date estimate, especially when the game page text still claims it will be released during Summer 2019.

Having said this, with My Friend Pedro releasing tomorrow (hopefully on GOG, too?), my wallet is tight as it can be, for the time being, so Children of Morta can wait.

Wow nice!
I hope dev will add an option to smooth out the pixelation?

The trailer says "coming 2018". XP

Quite intriguing, and gorgeous pixel art too.

To GOG staff: the bug where facebook opens is back, I get it each time I get in a forum announcement page (at least).
Amazing visuals. Wishlisted :)
I'm interested in the narratives.
But I'm not sure if I'm able to manage the game mechanics.

Out there in the steamy world of games exists a DEMO.
Why, oh GOG, why not here?

It's quite simple, really. The game will be released in Australia, where December 31 is the height of summer.

Be nice to know if Achievements will appear on release or not before pre-ordering... some game pages go live without listing them, then it launches and they do (Bloodstained, etc.)... would help people decide where to pre-order
Played the demo for 2 hours, it seems to be worth the 3+ years of wait. If duration of preorder discount on shteam is indicative of the release date, then it should come out at the end of August. However, some features won't be available at launch, e.g. online co-op etc. They will enable it as an update post-launch. Local co-op will be there, it's even in the demo from what I could tell.
OK, is there regular single player mode and story here? Pixelart looks outstanding, but cooperation aspect of gameplay is a bit worrying, I'd rather preferred classic single player gameplay...
The way Mora is shaping up goes to show that when it comes to game development, the adage still applies that there's doing it well, doing it fast and doing it cheaply - pick two. Even then, picking doing it well frequently excludes the other two.

Likely because they're only making the demo available temporarily, which seems like a waste of the effort that goes into making the demo to me.

Unless the game is being heavily misrepresented, it is singleplayer and story focused.

Same here. It would be very annoying for Galaxy to bring my browser to the front on *any* page every time I look at an announcement thread, but this is extremely bad since I avoid Facebook as a matter of principle, so this is highly annoying at best, and worse, a reason to avoid Gog if it keeps happening.

Gog: please stop Galaxy opening Facebook for me, that's cruel and mean and also very bad.
