SirPrimalform: Amazon usually starts taking pre-orders as soon as a game is announced, sometimes before. Part of the campaign to get Xenoblade localised focused on people pre-ordering the game on Amazon - before a localisation had even been announced.
Ahh, I remember being among the original Operation Rainfall write in people. I hesitate to call those good time, but I'm feeling a little nostalgic thinking about it.
I happen to pre-order a good bit, but I also don't buy games in general unless I'm certain I'll like them. SO, I mostly will buy games with tons of information on them, so that's probably why I buy mostly old games and only very occasionally buy new. Although, with regards to a studio like Bethesda, one would assume just wait for the half finished game to be patched, modded, and game of the year collectioned to death before buying. Or any studio with such a reputation.
