Yeah, lots of titles today so I was curious to see which title will people play first as there is a bunch to choose from...

Feel free to explain why you're starting the SSI series with your chosen title ;)
Pool of Radiance because it's the first one, duh!
Dungeon Hack because of the amount of hours I spent back in the day.

None.
I'd also be interested to hear people's reasons. I was a pen-and-paper player back then and the Forgotten Realms are very familiar territory, but I managed to miss out on all the Gold Box games. Not sure which collection to pick first. Would also love to hear if anyone gets them running on DosBox for Android.

The Pools series wouldn't be a bad place to start. The games haven't aged so gracefully, but Pools of Darkness is still fairly fun to romp around in - that said, you shouldn't start at the end. You can skip Pools of Radiance and go straight to Curse of the Azure Bonds if you like. Curse is a reasonable place to start, and is improved greatly from PoR. I liked Secret of the Silver Blades but it's often the worst-reviewed of the four in that series.

And of course, Eye of the Beholder, if you like dungeon crawls. The second one, especially, is still better than pretty much any modern crawl (yes, including Grimrock).

I'm about 75% confident that my brother got one of the gold box games running on his Transformer tablet, so I think you can get them going on Android. I'll ask.
Oh snap, Hillsfar! I loved that game when I was a kid (had it on the NES). Hmmm wonder if the nostalgia holds up?

Dungeon hack is the best and last in of Eye of the Beholder series. If also more random dungeon than story driven game. If he/she wants to level up his experience he/she should start with Eye of the Beholder.

edit:, oh and why start with EotB? Because it's old enough to feel the real spirit of old games, and not old enough to get used to it in terms of visual experience. ;)

Pool of Radiance, despite GOG does have a wrong box cover for it.
Gateway, it's the one that aged best.
None for now. But they're on my list. Not sure when I'll get to them. I'd love a review from someone who has never played them before just to see if they really do hold up.

But nothing can compare with Unlimited Adventures. Do you know how many hours I spent making my own quests? I probably clocked in the thousands hours(but I think I spent more time with the Monster Hunter games than any other series).

I was referring to your example of Dungeon Hack - if he/she is going to play it, he/she should play EotB before.

And again, Unlimited Adventures was the last game in the series - to not spoil game experience he/she should start with some other game on similar engine which was released before UA. :)

Only if you're set on playing all of them and in chronological order of release so that you don't get spoilt by things the later game did better than the first. Story-wise there is no connection whatsover between these games. Dungeon Hack is not part of the Eye of the Beholder series and Unlimited Adventures is not really part of the Pool of Radiance series either. They're both standalone and quite different products.
Bought it at first sight, these are CLASSICS I don't care I'm buying all over again.

Anyone have a clue as to how to actually move down lists when I play on a laptop without numlock keys?
It gets kind of boring playing six level 1 dwarf fighters :(
