All i remember of this title was its a standalone indie freeware game where you play as a computer AI and you upgrade your computer hosts with RAM and CPU's and infect/build bases all over the world until you can get into space.

eventually you move to the moon, then a comet and then interstellar space station and in the end learn everything and become a digital god thing.

I cant remember for the life of me what this was called and Google has failed me :(

I don't know the game but lemme bump this thread and say that it sounds amazing.

Is there anything else you could say about the game? What did it look like? When did you play it?
Shit, while I don't remember any outer space segments, the first part is familiar...

I second that. I hope someone can come up with the name, because it sounds like something I need to play.
I used to make herpes, the clap and genital warts on plague inc.

Wow, I haven't seen that game in forever! I wonder if that is the CPU game Starkrun was talking about.

Given his description, and the description of the game, I think it's highly likely that that is in fact the game he was looking for.
It's the game I was thinking of, at least!

(By the way, it's free.)
Well, I just finished playing through it, and it's a pretty cool game, although it does get rather monotonous after a while. I wouldn't mind a more complex version of it with more stuff to do and a bit higher production value. Still, for a free game it's excellent.
Incidentally, if anyone is interested, this is the search that allowed me to find the game:

http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/windows/strategy/sci-fi-futuristic/simulation-2nd/

That brought the list down to a manageable 60 games. I just went through them one by one, skipping those that I could dismiss immediately, either because I knew them already, or because the title made it clear that it couldn't be that game.

I thought others who occasionally look for half-remembered games might find this approach useful.

Google Code is being what?!?

Cloned the repository, just in case.
Google Code, is going down? Why haven't I heard of this anywhere?
I wonder how many projects are going to disappear forever. :(

Bidding farewell to Google Code

This is exactly what i was thinking. They have tools to migrate to GitHub but there are so many half projects that have been abandoned or are final release and abandoned :/
