Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been released exactly a year ago. Since then the game received plenty of updates, free content packs and three DLC expanding the Watcher of Caed Nua story and making world of Eora even richer in both lore and scope.

Today the game also receives its newest update. Patch 5.0 brings plenty of updates, including turn-based mode leaving its beta phase, improvements to ship battles UI and The Ultimate Challenge for most hardcore of players, still looking for additional ways to prove their skills. Additionally, to address some of the most pressing questions regarding story and lore, some of the dialogues with Eothas has been expanded and Book of Woedica has been added, which allows the Watcher to interact with goddess Woedica to learn more about The Wheel, motives of the gods and why the Watcher and factions matter on a grander scale.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, including all its DLC, is currently available 34% off as part of our Midweek Sale. If you haven't tried it yet, now is the best time to catch up.
Thank you so much for this game and the dedicated support, updates, fixes, etc. Agracima!

A year already... *sigh*

Still not in the mood to begin it, while I liked a lot the first one, because my Kickstarter backer statue was shattered into pieces during post delivery.

I should take the time to stick all pieces together (at least the ones I collected in the parcel and kept) first.
1 year has passed and GOG did not fix the "not owned" status for Obsidian Edition pre-order owners. :/
asked this in the wrong place earlier (sorry, Hickory) but does 5.0 warrant a new save if I'm not very far into the plot with my current save?

slamdunk: asked this in the wrong place earlier (sorry, Hickory) but does 5.0 warrant a new save if I'm not very far into the plot with my current save?
If you mean you are not very far in the real-time with pause option, then yes, it´s definitely worth it.
If you mean you are not very far in the turn based - there was no announcement about non-compatibility between beta and full release, so I guess you should be save, you should be able to just continue with the current saves.
Glad to see TB finally out of beta, looking forward to my first playthrough of Deadfire. (Finished PoE ages ago, currently trying to finish Witcher 3 DLC, then I'll tackle Deadfire)

The downside to this 1st anniversary, is the announcement that they will no longer be fixing issues that aren't game breaking.

As it's been a year since the release of Deadfire, we have come to the point of moving on to newer projects and ramped down the Deadfire staff as a result. We will no longer be fixing any issues we deem to be non-game breaking.
