Timboli: For instance I made no objection for game providers charging less in some countries. I also said it was down to the game providers what profit they are happy to make, which would include for any fears of piracy, like you said.

Every gamer should be treated equally, regardless of country.

Being treated equally, means you don't charge more, but nothing says you can't charge less, if there is a humane or good reason to do so.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: These quoted statements are contradictory to each other, because "charging less" for Customer B, while charging more for Customer A, is the antithesis of being "treated equally."

Actually, "charging less" means that Customer A is being treated like garbage, whilst Customer B is being treated like royalty.

Then there's the added problem of assuming someone's financial status based solely on the country in which they happen to live, which is deeply flawed & discriminatory illogic, and the antithesis of being "humane."

A lot of buyers of "regional price" games are rich people who live in so-called "poor countries," for whom the cost is next to nothing for them to buy the dirt cheap games.

And a lot of poor people live in so-called "rich countries," poor people who are getting shafted because they cannot afford to buy very expensive games, but they are expected to pay those high prices anyway, on the basis that discriminatory publishers/developers & distributors incorrectly assumed them to be "rich" when the reality is the exact opposite.

The only real equality would be one world, one price, which is a philosophy that GOG once believed in, and enforced, and GOG even made a great video to prove that one world, one price, is the only way to achieve equality, and the only way to avoid having many customers become ripped off, with video game prices:

Treat all gamers equally, but it's okay to charge less in some countries if there's a good reason, like fighting piracy.
"Treat all gamers equally" regarding videogames prices is a lie. Games are not a human right. But they should't be either a luxury product.

It can end up making gamers "non equal", with less potential sales in some countries. For that reason it could encourage piracy. counterproducent for the own developers.
