It is quite anoying to wait for patches that are allready out but not usable because you (GOG) want to test it before.
If you would be as fast that patches get updated some days or may be 1-2 weeks later ok, but more than a month later is not acceptable.

How about mark untested patches in the downloadlist so anyone who want it can deside by himself?

They typically have to wait for the devs themselves to submit it, and then they test.

IIRC, GOG's testing doesn't take long, but devs tend to ignore GOG versions and not submit patches quite often. If you want details on why a specific patch is not available here, you may want to name the game in question and chances are it's been discussed already.
In this case it is starpoint gemini 2. I can see that the latest patch is out just some days ago, so they might wait for this one before they give it out, but it is a bit anoying that the one before is not even be updated.
Unless it's a game you really really really want to play right now, i don't see the issue. I've gotten several patches/updates for Deponia, and i haven't touched the game yet, so if it has a new patch and hasn't notified me it doesn't change anything....

Although the devs taking forever to send patches is another thing, like Snowed-in-studios taking a long time before sending us a Windforge update...

After waiting one month for a patch that is allready out, this is really not the point and a bit an unfair statement. While GOG is the reseller of games it is the first contact partner and It is really not my job to act as a troubleshooter between GOG and the devs.

Have you considered at all that the patch in question likely came out on steam first and part of the reason the GOG version is taking so long is the removal of any steamworks parts / DRM from said patch - before it even gets to GOG?
Plus the nice part about GOG is that patches are completely optional. One doesn't have to worry about a mandatory patch messing up the game, when the game used to work before the patch.
Not acceptable are strong words. GOG sells games, not nuclear reactor software.

You're unacceptable! He's unacceptable! This whole forum is unacceptable!
How many bugs are there that are introduced by Valve failing to do any QA on the patches? I'm not really sure how long this should take, but it's going to take a lot longer for a small company like GOG to release a patch that they do some QA on versus a large shop that doesn't do any QA at all on the patches.

Presumably, it's also going to depend a bit on what actually changed in the patch. If it's not significant, they're probably not going to prioritize it as highly as some other patches anyways.

One time when I didn't get my patch, Duke Nukem caused a meltdown. I shudder to think what's going to happen if Shadow Warrior doesn't get his patch.

You are right misteryo, that was a bit harsh, I did not want to be impolite. I don't know how fast GOG update patches in other games and I don't know if I am overreacting by expecting patches that are out within a month, but things like that leaves a bitter taste.
I'm all for preferring more reliable/stable patches rather than quickly released patches.

However, I'm a single-player so I don't really care if I'm running a different version to someone else.

And I don't rush to download new games either, so I tend to get the more stable versions to start with. However, I can sympathise with someone who's just purchased a newly released game getting frustrated with a game breaking bug and having to wait for it to get fixed... but that really means the devs released the game in a poor state to begin with and one should be annoyed with them rather than GOG.
