flatiron: No. They have Ubuntu, Debian ... etc.. WINE HQ downloads. Should I go with the Ubuntu one or the latest stable 2.0.3?
I don't really know why you want to ask the same question twice, but here you go: Get WINE version 2.0.3 if you're not interested in debugging. That's the most recent stable release. The link I showed you gives the commands you would use to wget the file. You could also download the tarball and extract it, which would be the better choice if you're a novice Linux user and don't know how to use wget.
EDIT:
flatiron: how do I re-enable 64 bit architecture?
When you enable 32-bit, you don't disable 64-bit. You enable multiarchitecture support. You don't actually need to undo the add-architecture i386. If you absolutely have to get rid of the support you can use the "purge" command on the relevant files. See:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/113301/how-to-remove-all-i386-packages-from-ubuntu-64bit SECOND EDIT: Oh, Ubuntu doesn't fully implement multiarch? Teach me to use uglier distros. Looks like you may want to look at the
Biarch WINE tutorial page. Sorry I didn't know that when typing out that first edit.
