It's been a while since the last batch of releases. You would think Disney would want to capitalize on the release of THE FORCE AWAKENS. What's the deal?

Currently their entire company is occupied by raking in the vast quantities of cash generated by the new film, and the advertising, which is literally on everything.
Just the new Battlefront seems to be a barren land :)
Only if LucasArts brings an equal amount of non Star Wars games to balance it. Even the banned ones would be appreciated.
I've been thinking about this and I'm not so sure. The ones left out there seem to be either shit, incompatible, or too new.

Force Commander = crap
Pod Racer = Great but doesn't work on modern systems
Force Unleaded 2 = bad port

Of course Disney isn't going to let GOG have access to anything too new that they can still milk for a sizable profit.
Star Wars 1313? RIP
We have Rogue Squadron, that's all you really need .

Is that the environmentally friendly Force part 2?

XD Oh man, that is too funny. I'm not even going to edit that; it's making me laugh too much. :P
Now would be a good time to release theatrical versions of the original trilogy...

But apparently Disney doesn't like money as much as I thought.

I think they are showing those certain places. I remember reading an article a few days ago where the writer mentioned theaters in his city having midnight showings of the first three.

What I'd rather see is original versions of the original versions on DVD and BluRay. If they want to clean it up fine, but get the fucking Greedo shot and Vader scream out of there.

Actually, there is supposed to be some kind of "definitive collection" in the works that includes all 3 versions of the original trilogy (original, special edition, blu-ray edit), but they are holding back on releasing it until the anniversary in 2017.

Coll, wonder which release version they will start meddling with, could it be:
1977
1978
1979
1981
1982
1995
1997
2004
2005
2006
2008
2011
2015
release?

Is this a rumor or something that can be somewhat confirmed? I could really use some definitive news on a proper theatrical release... I sat through the special edition of Jedi for the first time the other night and almost cried at the embarrassing CG Max Rebo Band sequence...

That's what I meant by theatrical versions, not re-releases into the cinema, but disc releases of the original, un-fucked with versions. I'd be perfectly happy with a high def version of the remastered DVD releases. Nothing more than some colour grading and minor blemish touch-ups in those... no altered scenes, no ruined dialogue or any of Lucas' other bullshit, just the pure trilogy I love.

Not much more than a rumor at this point, but it did get a bit of validation when John Landis (good friend of George Lucas) stated back in September that Disney is working on it because it is, as he put it, "money on the floor".
