It's not that GOG stopped releasing old title. They just take time.

Lately there were few copyright issues of GOG with 'Old Game Companies' and other issues (which lead to removal of FALLOUT series and few others).
Also few companies don't see DRM-Free platform 'Good for Business'.
That's why GOG takes time to release old titles.

P.S. They released the third floor of tower yesterday having room for 7 old games (Although mostly they are from yr 2000 onwards)
Well, if we're talking about something being old in a linear scientific sense, then really every game is old as soon as it is created, whether it be a minute or 30 years. As some have said here, 'old' is pretty subjective in terms of the specific genre of gaming. An old game could be an indie PC title from 3 years ago, or a box of Commodore 64 floppies from 1986. As long as we stay away from the dreaded 'early access' concepts that have wreaked havoc on the gaming world lately, I'd say that the linear progression of computer games to be pretty stable and reasonable... given our understanding of physics and all that other shit.

And I'm now a minute older for writing that.
Dunno..Even with my 'puristic' approach (I'm here for oldies...veeery rarely interested in 2k+ titles) - I feel rather overwhelmed by a number of 'must-have games' released on GOG in last months than dissapointed.

I can't wait for more classic games to come out soon. Since GOG is already signed on with Ubisoft they should release Myst 3/4 ;) hint hint. I see the community wishlist is huge, and many great games that are classics... should be on here... such as nitemare 3D, Black and White series, The Sims Series, etc.

Like a few posted on here already, DRM free, is all I care about, so as long as there no SecuRom or something that is good, (I am looking at you The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection) lol.

That's because, like most people, you assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect. But actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint...

Ravencrest: Hello everyone, for the some time i have discovered there are, a lot of new games and indie titles, i dont mind , why not ? Then again there are so many older games, that are missing, when there was any seroisus update to the old titles (dos and early windows era)? The wishlists on site are so big and there is nothing only new games and inide :/ , maybe we could convince GOG to return to old formula of selling only old games. I dont mind some newer games or inidie but main updates should be the older ones, newer should be only addon. Do you think similiar as i do ?
Yes, we're all out of old games. The old games train is done.

If you believe that then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you :P Seriously, we just released a slew of old LucasArts games and people think that there are no old games left :) Relax, we aren't stopping with the old games :)

I was going to type something snarky about the OP but as a friend to you I thought I should come up (going slightly OT) and let you know that the Brooklyn Bridge is kind of a run down piece of shit and I don't doubt the actual owners would probably let you have it for a couple of bucks. :P

The Golden Gate is getting old but still majesty enough to make the joke funny, as well as some beautiful new bridges I've seen popping up around parts of East Asia.

Just a heads up because I care. :D

IronArcturus: GOG recently released . That game had been on the [url=http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/outlaws]wishlist for at least 3 years with over 2,700 votes. Some older, classic games just take time for GOG to acquire because of licensing issues.

Who knows? Maybe someday the No One Lives Forever series could make it to GOG...

snowkatt: system shock 1 first

MaximumBunny: There's only 1 way to convince them of anything - money. New games are bringing them that with less time and effort than it takes to sign licenses for older titles. Do you have a solution for this?
Dont buy new games form GOG :D? , of course im joking someone said earlier that selling new games gives them more cash and more cash gives them opprtunity to upload more games on their site, so why not buy them :)

timppu: What do you consider as "old games"? Games older than you?

What is it in older games that make them more preferable to you? Why don't you want to play also newer games?

I'm about as excited to see both newer (like Pillars of Eternity) and older (like Star Wars Battleground) here. I'm not an agists, when it comes to games.
im not saying thath new games are bad, just when i joined GOG there were only DOS and early windows era games. For sometime there are more newer games and less older , and by old i mean 1990-1999. Im not saying that getting newer game is bad, just there are so many older games still missing . But as some peolpe said earlier, there is big issue with rights to some games.

You joined GOG sometime in February 2010. Driver: Parallel Lines (original release date of July 17, 2007) was present on GOG, and it was the youngest game they carried. They also had 40 games with an original release date of 2004+ out of a total of 187 games.

GOG always carried newer games, though Day 1 releases started in April 2011. For more info on GOG's releases, see my previous post.

Forgive me for laughing but it is rather funny to see a "the sky is falling!" or "where are the old games, GOG?@?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" style post after we released quite a few of them in the beginning of the year along with our usual release of classic, new, and indie games :)
Think in a positive way. Not only you can buy old games, but you can also buy new retro games.
