Don't go exploring on foot - your shiny new vehicles await!

No Man's Sky, the open-space exploration game where you adventure across an infinite universe, is getting its second massive chunk of free content, called The Path Finder Update.

Building upon the previous Foundation Update, Path Finder is the largest content pack to date, bringing numerous improvements and additions. Chief among them is, of course, the option to traverse the land on a vehicle that you can summon anytime upon your home planet! But there's a lot of other cool stuff here, namely:

- Planetary Vehicles: Build up to 3 of these aforementioned crafts at your base.
- Vehicle Upgrades: Pimp your ride with extra acceleration, traction, a scanner for points of interest, or deadly weapons.
- Improved Visuals: High-res textures, improved visuals and 4K rendering on supported hardware.
- Permadeath Mode: Challenge yourself to reach the center without dying!
- Exocraft Races: Construct, race and share tracks to test vehicles to their limits.
- Dozens of new upgrades for weapons and tech.

That's not all, though! There are gameplay improvements, rebalanced difficulty, a photo mode to help capture all the surrounding beauty, base improvements, and much more waiting for you inside this Path Finder Update. To find out more, watch the neat trailer below or head over this way.

Yeah, sorry. Big free updates on a game that is 40% off still won't get me interested unless they add a story mode to the game.
Thank you for the update, bought this game in the first place, supporting you guys, keep up the good work.

OraEtLabora: OK, so what do you do in a game like this?
eeem, exploring the Galaxies far far away?

CMOT70: It's not isolated either, The Witcher 3 GOTY is A$39 on Xbox sale and has been recently the same on PS4 sales. On GOG it's on sale for A$47. The days of PC games automatically being cheaper than consoles are gone. It depends on where you are and what currency you're using.
I ended up re-buying it.... to good of a deal and the new world generations and network code really make the game feel special now... I'm much happier then the first time i played :)

Free weapons and ships now have broken slots
From what I've seen of it, the inventory system looks like shit. Please tell me they didn't just make it worse...

Some one else did. Got an award for innovation:

Thanks for the link. And considering how full steam ahead the hype train turned into a hate train of such magnitude I understand the devs reluctance to be there to pick the price.

While not many might agree: Well deserved for the stuff they did right. Grats Hello Games :)
*yawn* Still boring and overpriced! Fancy graphics and nothing more.

For that price I can play Empyrion, StarMade, Avorion & TerraTech together, and have a hell lot more fun ;P
I considered to buy NMS - But after looking around at postings, it seems like the quest for 48 slots inventory got far more tedious. After the update.

So not going to get it anyway.

I short it looks like people playing the game is wasting time grinding rather than exploring.

I have not played the game as I do not own it - Is that true, you end up grinding rather than exploring.

Well the way I understand it, you have to mine resources to fuel your ship and tools, repair your ship, upgrade your ship and tools and make money.
And you need money to repair/buy slots on crashed ships.. which means more mining.
So it's pretty darn grind intensive, yes.
ROFL, 40% off and 59,99€ ??

Are you kidding?

Change the price to 5,99€ and I´m in, otherwhise: I have time, the price will come.......
Post topic is incorrect, should read:
"No Man's Sky: The Path Finder free update is out - Game is now only 56% overpriced!"
Still have a long way to go before I drop ANY money on this game. In its current form I'd maybe buy it for 15$...
Like Civ6, I've just heard too much negativity about this game to be interested in paying/playing. I'll put it in that section of my wishlist reserved for 90% off ....... maybe.

Still, it's a bonus in their favour that they seem to be interested in supporting the game and not selling DLC
