timmy010: i noticed no mans sky never made it for the winter sale. any chance of this now?

tfishell: (And of course a sale on the game - with a discount comparable to Steam's - would be helpful and imo appropriate.)
It's -50% now! https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_winter_sale_2018_starts_now_67611/post385
Is there a LAN option? Will there be one in the future? Does one exist on Steam?
IMO Galaxy-only multiplayer is almost equivalent to no multiplayer. I've played many GOG games that are super popular on multiplayer on Steam (i.e. Grim Dawn, Dying Light), yet those same games are virtual ghost towns and usually impossible find any players to play with on multiplayer on GOG.

I suspect that a lot of No Man's Sky fans are unfortunately about to have that same kind of experience and learn that same lesson the hard way, because they don't yet have the frame of reference to realize this is the case. This is why Crossplay should be mandatory for games like No Man's Sky. Crossplay is a "need to have," not a "nice to have."
So I have to own the vanilla to have access to the multiplayer beta?
It really does not read that way.
It says "everyone".

elcook: No, not for now.
In that case I'm worried it's too little, too late.

Many that cared about multiplayer probably got the refund and bought the game on Steam. Without crossplay I imagine NMS multiplayer on GOG will have barely any players.

should be 50% off now
Hello, everybody,

As much as I am happy about the MP Beta, I wonder how I can play together with others now?

There is no join button in the main menu or when starting a new game. Version 1.77_GOG_MP is the right one, isn't it? Furthermore, there is no "Network & Voice" entry in the main menu.

If there's no cross play, there's no point. Why is this so hard to get right? So many people quit on this game when they fucked it up that NO ONE is playing on GOG now. Thanks for your walled garden. I should have bought on Steam.

Could you solve this? I have the same problem. There is no menu for multiplayer :/
