People will pay € 60 for GTA 5 because they enjoy the game.
I would not because I wouldn't enjoy it. It's not for me.
I don't mind other people buying, playing and enjoying it though.
*shrugs*
Also it's not the first time a game did not deliver what was promised. Spore is another such example. And I don't see people calling for that to be removed from GOG.

NMS is DOTY, as in "Drama of the year".

Damn! everything around this game is messed up: bad pc support, no updates, no communication, misleading/false advertisement (it's being investigated by the ASA btw) and now a civil war on reddit.
I'm just amazed how much a FOTY can do.

I wonder when the price for this game is going to come down... I didn't get hit by the hype train so the worst that can happen if I purchase this game is I'll loose some cash and my GOG library will be corrupted by its perverted presence :p Anyway, that $59.99 tag is just a little too much for this title, just my opinion. I might buy it when the price drops. But drop in price it must!

Well, sure. If your idea of cool is inventory management, repetitive planets, possibly having your progress erased every week, and there being no grand point to it all.
Everything you just complained about was already mentioned in pre-launch videos and interviews.

We all do that, sometimes we get what we had imagined in our heads ... sometimes we don't. We've all been there.
Mainstream media and popular YouTubers also managed to impart their ideas and thoughts onto their fans.
This too lead to the mass confusion about the game.
The difference here is that I could see from miles away what kind of game NMS was going to be like. The developer's constant reference to space simulations and games like Elite Dangerous, made me expect Euro Truck in Space, where the fun of the game lies in the journey - not the goal.
This is typical of simulation games, from Train Simulator to OMSI - The Bus Simulator. There's no real goal in these games, no over-arching mission or end-game, you enjoy the mechanics and the journey from point A to point B.
Maybe it's because so many gamers today experience a very limited range of games. If they had experience with actual simulation games, instead of Goat Simulator, they might have had more realistic expectations about NMS.
