MadalinStroe: Does he? I know he did some contractor work on 3-4 games for XSEED, completely fixing their PC releases, but I never heard anything about him actually being hired by them. Didn't he say he did all his modding/fixing as a hobby, in his free time, while he actually has a paying job?

Even so, should he be employed by XSEED, whatever he does in his free time should be of no concern to XSEED. He could fix Nioh, if it ends up in need of fixing, like he did for the first Dark Souls, by releasing the fix on moddb.

paladin181: Except when you work for one company, doing work for a competitor is generally frowned upon at best and explicitly forbidden in no compete clauses of contracts at worst. I'm not saying that any such nonsense exists, again. I'm merely stating that it could theoretically present an obstacle.
Again, unless I'm miss-remembering, he only fixed Dark Souls because he wanted to play it in his free time, he hated how badly it worked, so he started searching for a way to fix it, to improve his enjoyment of the game. Eventually he released a free fan-made fix. If he ends up having to create a fix for Nioh, even if there's some ridiculous contractual obligations, he could just release it anonymously.

But again I can't find anything about Durante being hired by XSEED. He did only some contract work for them. Which means that he was hired for a task, he did his part, and that was the end of his obligation to XSEED. There should be no restrictions on him modding any game he might consider worthy of his skills.

Hey, fair enough. :) The port may not even be broken to that point. His contract may be a non-factor. He may not care at all enough to fix it if it IS broken. I was just saying that it COULD be a hiccough in the system. :)

Anything is possible, I guess... ;)
Never DRM-free so who fucking cares?

GR00T: My experience has been the vast majority of the time (and I mean vast majority), I find better deals digitally than with physical copies of games. There are, of course, the odd outliers, but they're rare. Talking PC here, though.
But you live in Canada.
Things are different where I live.

DaCostaBR: ...what?
I expected you to understand the advantages of purchasing physical games, but apparently I was expecting too much, seeing how you decided to ignore the logic in my post and started to mock me.
I expected you to understand that you can have a more valuable collection, instead you thought I had any interest in how old your collection is, mentioning your ancient Mega Drive.
I've ZERO interest in how old your collection is. Couldn't care less about it...
I can legally sell my PS4 and games, instead of only the console like you, which decided to acquire digital content for it.
You can't see the advantage, but perhaps at least you can see the disadvantage someone can have, in going digital only. Probably not, you'll continue pretending there's nothing positive in purchasing physical games and nothing negative in purchasing digital games.
You'll never realize how moronic your phrase is (yes, I'm mocking you, too. Why not?):
avatar
DaCostaBR: I don't buy physical copies. They just become clutter.
Yes, let's generalize and pretend that's the outcome, no matter where they are stored or how organized the owner is.
avatar
DaCostaBR: There's no used market where I live, and shipping is costly.
You fool, you don't need to buy used games to get them cheaper. So what if you don't have used market in your town, you can purchase online!
Even by paying the transportation cost + price of the game, you can spend less than purchasing digital version.
Of course, not all games will be cheaper, that's not what I'm saying.
If you don't have an abnormally low IQ you can find good deals in the internet...

Good point. So buying digital in Brazil is really that much more expensive? Is this true of both PC and console games?

At least given that it is Koei-Tecmo the game shouldn't be using Denuvo. (Unless they started using it recently)

...what? Dude, I think you're projecting.

I didn't know what you were getting at with your previous post with hurting my experience and where you even got that from.
Minimum GTX 780 huh? Its kinda ironic that the min spec GPU is more expensive than a PS4. Wishlisted, but really doubtful of competence on PC because of these system requirements. If its anything like DS1, it can die from ebola.

Didn't you know, Denuvo is basically dead. Recent games get cracked in less than a day:

I pray that this game will make its way to GOG in the very near future. It would be an instant purchase for me, provided that the port is functional, of course. GOG doesn't have any of the Dark Souls games after all. Heck, it doesn't even have Salt and Sanctuary.
