Here's the list:

<snip>

I wonder if there is a chance these can come here. One can hope.
Hmm... take old games no one really plays/uses, wrap it in DosBox and shove it on steam... nice business model *sarcasm*

Anyways, Steam Link, they are all February 8th, the preview of screenshots shows how old these things are...
Kult aka Chamber of the Sci-Mutant Priestess aka KULT: The Temple of Flying Saucers was a really strange game. In order to win the game, you had... NOT to follow what the characters in the game tell you to do, at least not after a while otherwise you would die.. Weird sci-fi typical from Exxos back then.

So no one can release the game? Damn it is tough to get it running.

Oh no, I was just pointing out that it seems the "nine Infogrames classics" seems to refer to games made by Infogrames, not published by them.

You yourself can try to figure out who has the rights if you want. :) (though maybe somebody already tried in the "game rights'" thread

Yes... GOG has never done the same. All straight ports.

timppu: apparently the games are MS-DOS versions, meaning EGA graphics at best,
Argh, yes, it's... ouch.

Checked the steam pages. Not worth it. In the case of Hostage, it's just... a bit bad. But for Kult, the flashy colours really destroy the atmosphere of a strongly atmospheric game.

It has already been confirmed about a month ago that we will get the games on GOG, too.

The publisher Piko Interactive bought the IPs of several developers (Infogrames, Ocean Software, Legend Entertainment, Beam Software, Accolade, Hasbro Interactive, GT Interactive, Microprose/Spectrum Holobyte) with the intent on re-releasing their old games. Source: Piko's press release.

Even though GOG isn't explicitly mentioned I remember someone asking Piko if the released games will also come to GOG and they answered: Yes.

As a matter of fact we already have one game of this aquisition here, even exclusively AFAIK: Death Gate.

So the question isn't if the publisher wants to bring these games here but rather when they will be here. Or if GOG's curation strikes again.

I didn't know about this, thanks for the info!
@GOG:
When bringing "Eternam" here, PLEASE bring the floppy disk AND the CD version.

CD version has some "questionable" dubbing, but afaik no written text for dialogue and has problems with the CD audio tracks and MIDI music (they seem to mix on the CD version).

The floppy disk version has all text in English included, I would prefer that version.

Let's hope that GOGs curator takes a day off for these games.

I think I would buy them all (although I don't know anything about "Marco Polo") and I am very interrested in "Hostages", "Kult" and "Bubble Ghost", but I would jump for joy if we could get them as AMIGA emulations like "Rocket Ranger", too.

I tried to find an email for some of those people and ended up not been able to find contact. This was a long time ago though.

Follow the breadcrumbs ;) Denis Dufour's latest games on Mobygames - http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,629/ - were Ubisoft games, so I googled "Denis Dufour Ubisoft" and his LinkedIn page came up. I don't have InMail though so somebody with that service would have to reach out to him. https://www.linkedin.com/in/dufourdenis/

Hmm? No it would be the same. Although just having the game for free because it's so old and for archival purposes would have been better rather than trying to milk something long gone.

But the problem, is not that it was done, it's who did it. Infogrames, who own things like Alone in the dark and have only put out total tat in the last few years, and then becoming another company after buying them out to hide their bad deeds. Remaking old games fairly badly.

Damn i wish i could find the video that covers the history, though i think Jim Sterling went over it but i need to rewatch it...
