One could say that GOG Galaxy is a simply stellar platform.

These past couple of days have been full of good news here at the office! First, our partners in crime CD PROJEKT RED told the world that 4 million copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been sold. Now we’re here to announce that in the first two weeks almost 700 thousand gamers worldwide have gone with GOG Galaxy as their monster-huntin’ platform - more than all other PC options combined!

Headcount: Over 693,000 gamers worldwide
Volume: Over 21.5 petabytes of game and bonus content
Achievements: 3.5 million unlocked
Combined game time: 1,770 years (that’s 646,479 full 24-hour days)

See the video below for more stats about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com!

Jealous you’re not part of the stats? Join the GOG Galaxy open beta and help us raise those numbers!
GG GOG

This proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that DRM does NOT increase sales of a AAA release.
So, other publishers, get with the program :-)

Nirth: I want to know that as well, far more interesting than the other 3 mentioned in the OP aside from player amount.
One interesting fact you can infer from this blatantly skewed tooting your own horn news post is that by far the most players are on consoles. Unless my math is wrong, which of course is extremely possible.
Cool. Now get that GOG in-game overlay out as soon as posible so that we can leave the Steam services behind in the dust (along with my 52 level profile and 600+ games in my library). :)
Congrats!
Are you counting people who tried to download it with Galaxy too? Seeing that it runs worse that the standalone downloader I suspect you are counting them towards this total.

fortune_p_dawg: That guy talking in the video sounds like Jean Claude Van Damme during his motivational speech in the 1994 film classic Street Fighter. I was waiting for him to bust out with an "there's those want to go Steam and those who want to go with ME!"

Lol!

Cypisss: His voice. Damn. I want that voice.
No joke man, I'd be quoting movies all day.
Yeah, you go, GOG. wooh.... Right. *rolls eyes* Let's flaunt some more virtually inflated statistics that in the end are fairly meaningless. At least it was interesting to note how many PC copies sold so far. I wonder though how many less there would be without the NVIDIA promo.

undeadcow: ...maybe I should give GOG Galaxy a try...
It's a trap! Seriously though, wake me up once that thing has a complete and stable release. Even then I may chose not to use it.
Those are soem nice numbers. But I don't think I'll be switching to GOG for my future non-Witcher gaming. Mainly because of all the little conveniences Steam has. (In-game chat, better download speeds and the ability to back up a game without havingto re-download the whole thing, being the most prominent ones.)
Galaxy is a stellar platform? Erm, no, at least not yet.
You aim for the stars but have made it only to the moon so far...

Bu if you want to encourage more people using the Galaxy client by showing that fanciful video - i would not disagree with your marketing activities nor stand in the way. Let people make their own experiences with the great thing that is the alpha... oops... beta Galaxy client...

So what your saying is your not using the platform at all, but your more that qualified to comment on it like you know what it is... or am I the only one seeing this?

All the things that Galaxy will have eventually... Steam took over 10 years to get where it is... Galaxy has had 6 months. Let's not forget that.

Galaxy works just fine on my end - I don't know why people are complaining here. Granted, downloading is a bit slow, but hey, so is my internet. I'm perfectly used to waiting for 2 hours to get down 1GB.
So... 700k gog and 550k Steam? Uhm......

Or is the 700k for Galaxy users and not TW3 owners?
except galaxy still sucks? and the potential 700 thousand witcher 3 topics on the general forum would raise my blood pressure.
Another pr post with misleading informations.
I find it incredibly ironic that GoG toots it's own horn when it comes to Galaxy, yet in I'm sure a large percentage of that 700k, there was nothing 'optional' (from the user point of view) in installing and running on Galaxy if they bought retail. This coming from the same site where there is a sizeable amount of users who do not like clients period.

Meanwhile Valve is over there clapping their hands, saying 'welcome to the dark side'.
