One could say that GOG Galaxy is a simply stellar platform.

These past couple of days have been full of good news here at the office! First, our partners in crime CD PROJEKT RED told the world that 4 million copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been sold. Now we’re here to announce that in the first two weeks almost 700 thousand gamers worldwide have gone with GOG Galaxy as their monster-huntin’ platform - more than all other PC options combined!

Headcount: Over 693,000 gamers worldwide
Volume: Over 21.5 petabytes of game and bonus content
Achievements: 3.5 million unlocked
Combined game time: 1,770 years (that’s 646,479 full 24-hour days)

See the video below for more stats about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com!

Jealous you’re not part of the stats? Join the GOG Galaxy open beta and help us raise those numbers!
And you'll get +1 once I get some new hardware. Congrats!
Congrats guys!

Just please don't forget about fixing issues with store/forums/chat etc.
Woohoo! Hopefully that raises some eyebrows in a few publishers / developers boardrooms...

Congratulations!

I have absolutely zero interest in being a statistic, thank you very much. I just wish the website/new account system/storefront/forum didn't feel like it's all in beta too.

I'm with snowkatt on this one. I tried it, and it was kinda buggy. Kinda very buggy. Not to mention the outright lies, for which I still have not gotten an apology. I certainly didn't feel like wanting to keep using the client.

It's great that you got so many people to try out your client, congratulations for that, yet I can't help but think it might have been better if they had tried a more stable version of it.

Ciris: I am disappointed in the lack of instant celebratory comments in this thread. :C

I wrote this news post, damnit! And it's typo-free! (I hope).

Edit: ninja'd :D

Edit 2: You make SOME-OTHER-DIGITAL-DISTRIBUTION-PLATFORM-THAT-SHALL-NOT-BE-NAMED sound like Voldemort. I like you.
its a very nice news post.

+ yay! :-)
Wish it was more but man, that is very good news!! People are learning about the benefits of GOG and its respect of the customer.
Awesome news!

I love GOG and will try to support them as much as i can.
I did use the Galaxy Client for the witcher3 but not as much as i would have liked, hopefully it will be out of beta soon and i will use it more.
I want to be part of those statistics, but none Galaxy or Witcher 3 for Linux gamers. :)

Wow, congratulations on those statistics!

(Now imagine if every one of them bought a game or two from the great summer sale.) <grin>
I like many others have many games on the "other" gaming site .
My first port of call for new games will now be GOG if they are selling it I will buy it here .
We need these guys to give us a breath of fresh air in the gaming world and they need us to support them where we can .
I wish GOG galaxy a successful bright future .
Oh and well done Witcher 3 great game by any standards
I bought the game on GOG but don't use Galaxy - do I fall under "the other platforms" or does it still count for the 693k?
So counting this and if the numbers Steamspy are throwing up are any indication, GOG has outsold Steam when it comes to Witcher 3 or at least there are more people using GOG to play the Witcher 3 since there was the nvida promo, retail copies that came with GOG keys, ect. Even counting those having 120,456 more people having the game here as opposed to Steam which has this huge market dominance and let's be honest a very rabid and loyal user base that is still impressive.

So congrats, hopefully these numbers will help open the doors for even more games to come in here.

Nice to see that Gog Galaxy is home to most of the pc Witcher 3 gamers. A question though does that number encompass the users of the Galaxy platform store (aka gog webstore) or are these pure client users. This would be really interesting to know. Otherweise its no surprise since Witcher 3 is the company product :)

Actually that is not always the case. I do believe Witcher 2 sold more on Steam then it did here. I think that having something to help convince the I want to use clients types to get the game here helped. Like it or not there seems to be more people who just like doing things through a client then those of us who don't.
