One could say that GOG Galaxy is a simply stellar platform.

These past couple of days have been full of good news here at the office! First, our partners in crime CD PROJEKT RED told the world that 4 million copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been sold. Now we’re here to announce that in the first two weeks almost 700 thousand gamers worldwide have gone with GOG Galaxy as their monster-huntin’ platform - more than all other PC options combined!

Headcount: Over 693,000 gamers worldwide
Volume: Over 21.5 petabytes of game and bonus content
Achievements: 3.5 million unlocked
Combined game time: 1,770 years (that’s 646,479 full 24-hour days)

See the video below for more stats about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com!

bleclair: SMH... Whatever, dude. I don't see fanboy as an insult. There are plenty of things I'm a fanboy for, which I know kind of blinds you to any negatives. And there are plenty of negatives here at GoG.

I think another client was unnecessary, the increased difficulty to get games without said shitty client is annoying, the changing of the games display/sorting is horrible, the removal of box art was a poor decision, the website has plenty of issues, the PM thing was chaotic and then having all this constant PR speak is just amusingly over the top.

Regardless, this is just another website selling games on the internet. I'm sorry I don't like the things you like. Don't take it so personal.

DCT: I am not taking anything personal, I just don't cared to have a childish label slapped on me because I don't see things the way you do. Ever stop to think you maybe wrong on things? I'm not going to tell you how to think mind you, personally I don't give a flying fuck, just saying that there is a possibility that you are wrong and that you shouldn't go around insulting people when they question your views and call them fan boys because you know who does that type of stuff? ignorant and stupid people.
Okay, you're not a fanboy, sorry.

As for me being wrong, that's the cool thing about opinions, none of 'em are wrong.

Yes they can be wrong if someone is trying to parade a opinion as a fact on something. and then default to the "oh well it's just my opinion" crap when they get called out on it. Also in other ways a opinion can be wrong for example if I say "in my opinon Hitler was right in trying to exteriminate the Jews" that maybe a opinion but it's a wrong one or at the very least a poor and stupid opinon.

I think you forgot to take your meds today. Go double-check.

Get the little plastic pill thing, and look under the tab that says "Thursday."

You overgeneralized in your previous statement.
Then you implied someone has a mental illness when they called you on it.
You're still wrong, and your defensive position is extremely flimsy.
Also, you're apparently rationalizing at this point. You don't want to spend money, you don't want to support GOG, you just want to use their forum to complain and fight.

In all seriousness, what do you mean?

It was a joke. I apologized for calling him a fanboy. He chooses to still be worked up, well, that's his choice. I mean, he invoked Godwin's Law. I can't take him seriously after that point.

What exactly am i wrong about? The website having issues? The client being buggy? Not liking the way they display games now, removal of box art, moving links for downloads, etc? Couple of those are facts, couple are opinions. You can't say to someone that likes tofu better than ice cream, "You are wrong." It's an opinion. You can say, "You're an idiot!" And don't worry, plenty here already have. ;-)

I barely post on here, but as someone that has spent a decent amount of money (for me) here and has been around since the beta I reserve the right to express my opinion. And feel free to reserve your right to tell me I'm full of it. ;-)

GOG.com: One could say that GOG Galaxy is a simply stellar latform.
.......
Someone else might say it is because you guys made sure the UI to use the old downloader became shit (a click fest with page switching), so pretty much pushing the masses into using your Beta product willing or not.....

xemmy: So maybe 1.5 million sales on the pc. That's really not too bad at all!
Almost, 1.250.000 PC (700.000 Gog + 550.000 Steam), 3.750.000 consoles. I guess it was the other stores (nuuvem, gmg, amazon, etc) selling the gog key that made Gog outsell Steam.

And Nvidia was giving away codes with video cards that redeem at GoG.

I have ~400 games on Steam but I bought Witcher 3 @ GOG primarily because I think CDPR is a great PC developer and I wanted them to take home more of my money than they otherwise would have if they had to pay 30%+ to Valve because I bought the game on Steam. Of course, the 20% discount that GOG offered me for owning the two previous Witcher games was much appreciated, too. :-)

Not convinced, wont use galaxy
Wow, congratulations. Didn't expect you to actually beat the platform that cannot be named. The Witcher 2 did a lot worse on GOG.com than over there, if I remember correctly.

synfresh: I find it incredibly ironic that GoG toots it's own horn when it comes to Galaxy, yet in I'm sure a large percentage of that 700k, there was nothing 'optional' (from the user point of view) in installing and running on Galaxy if they bought retail. This coming from the same site where there is a sizeable amount of users who do not like clients period.

Meanwhile Valve is over there clapping their hands, saying 'welcome to the dark side'.
Do you mean you are forced to install Galaxy if you buy the witcher 3 retail or Digital?
IF you are forced i woud call gog advertising pretty false and if you dont know
false advertising can get you sued.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_advertising

Gog have said the client is optinal so if they suddenly force alot of people to install the client withouth taking down the advertising about the client being optinal
they woud be pretty fast in legal troubles.
