Happy new year!
Last year I ran a small giveaway to try to get people to contact publishers about bringing the missing Linux versions of certain games here. Since then the Linux versions for some games have been added, but it's still a big issue, especially when it comes to the bigger releases. So I've decided to kick off the new year with another giveaway in support of getting more of the missing Linux releases here.
It only takes a few minutes to send an email and/or write a forum post and the more of us that do this the better the chances are of success (this goes for bringing more games here in general. Limiting purchases of games elsewhere will also help incentivise more GOG releases). Whether you're a Linux user already, currently considering Linux or would just like to keep your options open, if you want to see more Linux ports here then contact the relevant developers/publishers asking about bringing the missing Linux versions to GOG.
(and if anyone is curious about Linux I'd like to encourage you to check out the beginner's guide I wrote and perhaps give it a try: The "Try Linux" Repost/Rewrite (a "beginner's guide"))
These are the details for the publishers of some of the bigger titles here that are missing their Linux versions:
----- Koch Media/Deep Silver -----
(Metro Redux series, Saints Row series)
Email and postal addresses can be found at:
UK: https://www.deepsilver.com/en/imprint/
France: https://www.deepsilver.com/fr/imprint/
Italy: https://www.deepsilver.com/it/imprint/
Germany: https://www.deepsilver.com/de/imprint/
Spain: https://www.deepsilver.com/es/imprint/
US: https://www.deepsilver.com/us/imprint/
Their support address might also be worth trying: techsupport@deepsilver.com
For the Saints Row games in particular, you can also try contacting Volition using the contact form here: http://www.dsvolition.com/contact/
That page says to visit SaintsRow.com about the SR games but I was unable to find a contact form or address there, so just use that contact form anyway, or try the support address and/or their forums: https://www.saintsrow.com/forums/show/233767
For the Metro Redux games, you can also try contacting 4A Games. Contact details for them can be found here: http://www.4a-games.com/contact.html their email address is info@4a-games.com
If you use Twitter then you can also try asking them there:
https://twitter.com/deepsilver
https://twitter.com/DSVolition
https://twitter.com/SaintsRow
https://twitter.com/metrovideogame
I have sent several emails to Deep Silver as well as two letters, the most recent being around the end of November. In addition I've tried contacting Volition and 4A Games using both the contact forms and email addresses listed on their respective websites.
----- Kalypso Media -----
(Tropico 5, , [url=https://www.gog.com/game/vikings_wolves_of_midgard]Vikings: Wolves of Midgard)
Contact details (for US/UK/DE) available via their website: http://www.kalypsomedia.com/
Twitter: https://twitter.com/kalypsomedia
Twitter (for Tropico): https://twitter.com/El_Prez
Forums: http://www.forum.kalypsomedia.com/
I have tried contacting Kalypso via email and by post:
- I tried sending an email to their general contact address but my mails were refused by their mail system with an automated message telling me the address was for "general inquiries only" and to contact support.
- So I tried sending an email to their support address instead and a little over a week later got a reply back unsurprisingly saying that address was for support only & they could not help.
- I then tried sending an email to their business contact address but received a message delivery error.
- I sent a physical letter to them but never received a reply.
- More recently I also attempted emailing someone specific at Kalypso (Simon Hellwig, Global Managing Director). I have received no reply to that so far either but at least the mail didn't bounce this time.
Kalypso did however bring the Linux version of Dungeons 2 here a while ago, so there's hope for the others yet.
----- Techland -----
(Dying Light)
Contact form at: http://company.techland.pl/contact
Support email address: support@techland.pl or pomoc@techland.pl
Twitter: https://twitter.com/TechlandGames
Forum: http://forum.techland.pl/topic/18-ideas-and-feature-requests-for-dying-light-developers/
I sent Techland a message using the contact form on their website but got no reply. More recently I also sent an email to their support address and they got back to me surprisingly quickly, however they were unable to help. It might be best to try asking them using Twitter or on their forum.

As for some other games missing their Linux versions here:
- Age of Wonders 3 seems like a lost cause. The developers have blamed licensing issues with the Steam Runtime, which makes little sense because the Steam Runtime is little more than a collection of libraries from Ubuntu. In addition, as GOG only officially supports Ubuntu and its derivatives anyway bundling most of those libraries would not be necessary. Still, it can't hurt to keep trying.
- The Linux version of Q.U.B.E. was rejected by GOG for some reason, something to do with Steamworks integration... but my testing with the Steam version shows it to work no differently to other games that use the same build for both Steam & DRM-free releases, with it running perfectly without needing Steam (I played through the entire game without Steam). The Windows version works in exactly the same way - I'm not sure why GOG would consider this an issue for Linux but not for Windows.
- A newly updated Linux build of Dust: An Elysian Tail was submitted to GOG about 4 months ago, but there is some unspecified "red tape" holding its release up. No idea what's going on there; GOG have been as evasive as usual when asked about it :/ Fez was in a similar situation but that was added a little while ago, so hopefully it won't be much longer for Dust now.
