When did this start? Is GoG so strapped for cash they have to resort to advertising very dubious looking ebay auctions which have nothing to do with the game in question?

Sounds to me like you have some kind of malware/adware/whatever installed. There's nothing like this on GOG; it's coming from something on your computer.

huh? I don't understand this, I hovered over account boxes and sales page boxes and got nothing.
Nothing here either... so you must have some script/adware installed.
Huh? I don't see such a thing. Are you talking about the game boxes on the game card?

Nothing from me either.
Pidgeot is right, Norsef.

I tried checking out GOG using IE which doesn't have Ad-blockers installed, like the way I do with Firefox, and got nothing. As he pointed out, it's very likely, your computer is infected with Malware.

Malware are pretty smart "viruses". Integrating itself into your browser system, amongst other things, and pooping up random ads, as they detect what you are surfing.
Yeah.. tried it on gamecards and in my library, nothing pops up....
Yep, seems like I'm the idiot. It just confused me because it didn't happen anywhere else so I assumed it had something to do with the site like those Ebay banners that used to pop up. But it seems to be a script from a company called "Iminent".

Welp. Time to format my hard drive again I guess.

Edit: Found it. It's apparently been installed on my computer since January but only just now started to do anything.

Though it might be the safest route, but usually getting something like https://www.malwarebytes.org/
can usually remove things too.

Don't worry about it. It does happens to the best of us sometimes. Try using Malwarebytes and see if you can get rid of it.

Edit: Ninja'ed by Lugum.

He probably means his physical game boxes at home. Can be scary at times.

What are you, the necro police today? :)
Anyway, cut this one some slack. Brand-new user, probably their first post. Assuming they're not a spammer themselves, they probably meant no harm.
