It's a little hard to find because of the NES game of the same name, but there's a lot pictues if you specifically search for "Wizards and Warriors PC", or filter out "NES". There should be some videos, too.

Don't wanna sound like an ass...but have you considered to ask your teacher?
Sometimes, the easiest (?) solutions are best.

He was my teacher some 12 years ago, I don't know where he is today. I also doubt if I tracked him down 'and' he did not find it weird that my reasons for tracking him down was to figure out what video game I briefly played that one time I visited him, that he vividly remembers what he played at that time 12 years ago, I mean I certainly don't.

Found a download, its old. It also says the game hardly functioned on Vista, but did barely. I might have to dig up an emulator.

It's the D W Bradley game... now I know why it rang a bell and reminded me so much of Wiz 8.

Old man jenkins, this game is it!

Sadly the controls on windows 7 is too clunky, and the screen flickers in black. It is in practice, unplayable. But I managed to get this screenshot so you can compare it to my drawing of the guy.

The resemblance is uncanny! ;-) Congrats on finding the game!
