MadalinStroe: The only older titles are the Shadowrun games. This is the first I've heard about game-ending bugs, if anything, I've only heard praise about them. Do you happen to have any link/hints about this?

The only bad things I heard about them, since they finally decided to release on GOG, was about their neutered Necropolis version here.

I've encountered the Apex Rising bug personally - it really sucks because that means you can't finish your game and need to start a new one. They never fixed it as far as I can tell.
This is what happens when script kiddies think they have what it takes to make a game!

morrowslant: ...Pre-Paradox buyout HBS games were usually supported for 6-8 months after release, then ignored forever so HBS could focus on newer titles. You will run into game-ending bugs in HBS's older titles that have been reported multiple multiples of times for years, and there is about 00.0008% of those bugs ever getting fixed.

There is the Apex Rising bug like tremere110 mentioned for Dragonfall.
Returns can glitch-out in multiple ways during the final mission (raises hand for this one), never got deep into Hong Kong but the steam forums/bug reports shows lots of unfixed issues

DreamedArtist: Thank you. Can you guys please put a red line on the top of the site like a warning saying hey this game is so and so and is being removed from the catalog on this date, hurry and get it before its gone!.

I hate knowing the forum is the only place to get this news and sometimes we don't even get any heads up before stuff is removed.

I am sure many would love a more direct warning on the sites main page for stuff like this.
Currently we don't have the feature you are mentioning. At the beginning I made it into a sticky, but I feared it wouldn't be very visible right at the top of the page, to be honest. I could be persuaded otherwise if you all think it wouldn't be such a bad idea :)

morrowslant: Anyway, not sure why folks asking for the Necropolis removal notice to be stickied.
I think the request wasn't about his game in particular but about removal threads in general. They often get lost in the host of other threads. So making them more visible would be helpful.
I normally buy a game before it leaves the catalogue, but even I won't buy this broken and abandoned mess.

But thank you for the warning, GOG.

It sure would. The idea of using red letters, like someone suggested, would be a nice one.

It doesn't have to be sticky. Otherwise the stickies will become too many. But it would help if such announcements were in a different color. As long as you don't have the possibility to implement a separate color for removals, how about making removal announcements blue NEWS? That would already increase the visibility over plain, green-dot threads like this one is.

problem is not everyone uses the forums, and having to use the forums to know if something is getting removed is annoying. Banner on the top site like a red bar going across notifying the users that said game is being removed is the way to go and 100% user friendly and 100% of site traffic will see. we as a community should encourage this option for everyone as it benefits us all.

Right, totally agree.

This idea makes sense. Would probably help if something similar was done on the GOG Galaxy client.
Not to be confused with: Noctropolis

I almost had a heartattack when I saw this topic.
