MadalinStroe: Well you made me look, and while it's definitely a game I'll never play, I did discover something that blew my mind. WOW!!! The game has achievements. Somebody at Nightdive must really love it, to take the time to add this feature.

Anothername: I think I might give it a go when its on a sale. I read they worked with the original devs to tweak and fix some parts of the game like removing dead ends and upped animation framerate. Its kind of an enhanced version to the 20+y original I still have floating around somewhere.
It is a decent game for what it is and definitely has some solid camp humour value in it. It is an old school adventure, through and through though, so there is pixel hunting involved.

That's pretty much why I said it's not for me. The only point and click games I've been able to play to completion, have been the Monkey Island games(due to the superb humorous writing and god tier music), and some science fiction themed games, such as Project Journeyman. "Pixel hunting" and "moon logic" killed of the genre for me.
A pretty steep price for a supposedly broken game.
I agree with the previous poster. GOG should consider making a new thread tag. Like we have the blue "News", they should implement a red "Removal" or something like that. It will at least draw some attention to it instead of looking like just another forum thread.

I can relate. I would not consider it too if it where not for nostalgia; I'm just not an adventure game player anymore like I had been in the past. But if someone is and looking for some original classic I can strongly suggest it for all the reasons tomimt stated.

Time for an Saints Row/Arkham/GTA style Noctropolis 2 (with a brand new next gen Darksheer which is completely player customized) :D

Yeah, that would be helpful indeed.

MadalinStroe: The only older titles are the Shadowrun games. This is the first I've heard about game-ending bugs, if anything, I've only heard praise about them. Do you happen to have any link/hints about this?
The Shadowrun games are great and I didn't encounter any bugs in them. Well, apart from insect spirits, of course, which are called 'bugs' too. :-)

Unless he is talking about the three iOS games, that Harebrained also released, I'm a bit confused.

I do not think there is reason to panic that the good titles get removed. Would not make sense with "because Paradox" reasoning since they recently (and thankfully! :) ) started to be more active with GOG releases and if it where not just one game they would have announced it as such.

I guess it simple: It gets removed because it sucks and is broken and no one is able to/interested in fixing it.

DreamedArtist: Thank you. Can you guys please put a red line on the top of the site like a warning saying hey this game is so and so and is being removed from the catalog on this date, hurry and get it before its gone!.

I hate knowing the forum is the only place to get this news and sometimes we don't even get any heads up before stuff is removed.

I am sure many would love a more direct warning on the sites main page for stuff like this.
They're trying to tell the few of us without widely advertising it. They're not trying to make a big notice of games LEAVING the catalogue, regardless of the reason. They just want a nondescript post they can point to when people complain so they can say "But see, we told you"

:)) morrowslant said that Harebrained's older games had game-ending bugs. I replied to morrowslant. You replied to me, and I replied to you. The question was: what bugs?

Ah, I see. Yes, as I said the only bugs I encountered were these: https://shadowrun.gamepedia.com/True_Form_Insect :-)

But they were quite nasty!

morrowslant: ...Pre-Paradox buyout HBS games were usually supported for 6-8 months after release, then ignored forever so HBS could focus on newer titles. You will run into game-ending bugs in HBS's older titles that have been reported multiple multiples of times for years, and there is about 00.0008% of those bugs ever getting fixed.

The only bad things I heard about them, since they finally decided to release on GOG, was about their neutered Necropolis version here.
See here:

I've encountered the Apex Rising bug personally - it really sucks because that means you can't finish your game and need to start a new one. They never fixed it as far as I can tell.
Is this worth buying before it gets removed?
Nice ^^^.
HBS's ShadowRun games were pretty but also shallow.
Biggest annoyance in Returns for me was that fights were boring, with Cyberspace adding on a additional (boring) combat mode. SR Dragonfall + SR Hong Kong were definitely improvements in storytelling, never got deep enough into Dragonfall/Hong Kong to see the most of the combat improvements.

Anyway, not sure why folks asking for the Necropolis removal notice to be stickied.
The GOG version of Necropolis is a buggy, gimped mess of a game lacking core features (Multiplayer/Co-op Mode) that has been abandoned on both GOG + Steam. Are people suspecting that Paradox's stream of DLC $$$ will be used to fix and relaunch Necropolis?
