The good, the bad, and the ugly...

The good: It now shows when someone is in-game, which is a useful feature I've hoped they would add.

The bad: GOG Downloader notified me I have a message waiting, I clicked on it and it took me to the website chat page and left me up to my own devices to figure out which one of the 223423 people who have ever messaged me in the last 3 years might possibly have just sent me a message, with no status indicators anywhere to go to that message - if there even is one. It could be a random misfire with no actual message for all I know. If someone did send me a message and can read this, send me a message on Steam if it is important (same nickname), or if it isn't time oriented I'll hopefully stumble upon it randomly some day by accident and respond. :)

The ugly: Ok, it's not ugly per se, at least not any more. The missing chat avatar icons that people noticed on the website-only in Firefox 38.x are now back, so it's purdy rather than ugly, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try to use The Man With No Name to my advantage in an attempt to be mildly clever. Did it work? Probably not. :)

I though object finding games didn't meet GOG's high standards for inclusion on the catalogue...
Fun Fact: they are probably the only avatars in the whole site that you can't use to had someone as a friend.

It seems something got broken when GOG tried to import your PM history to the new Chat section. I have got old PMs in the chat section but there are quite a few GOGers missing which I am sure were there before. I think we also had corresponded via PM, yet I don't see any messages from you when I go to Chat. Otherwise though it is working through the website for me and I don't have to login to Galaxy.

You're definitely not wasting time with support and keep at it until everything gets fixed for your account regarding the PM history and chat functionality.

I'm curious. Since PM is back, what does it look like? Do you access it through chat in the web page or is the little orange/red PM option under the user's avatar there like us used to be?

Its integrated in the Chat on the website, when you click on start conversation (the replacement button for PM) for example that also takes you to the Chat area. So in other words Chat now should have the old PMs as well as the new chat messages for all the users that you sent PMs to before or recently chatted with, but there are some folks missing that I am sure I had PMed before.

Treat me like I'm an idiot (not a big stretch I know). I'm in here via the web page, now let's say I want to PM you. What EXACTLY do I do?

PM became chat. Personal messages became chat messages.
Hover over the user icon, the avatar, and choose "Start conversation" (see image).

Okay, that's where I get the error. At least now I know it's not something I'm doing wrong. :D Thank you.

As Maighstir said just hover your mouse cursor on my avatar and click on "Start Conversation" which is the PM button. :)

Hmm. Am I still "Miaghstir" to you, or did you simply make a typo? (It should be "Maighstir")

Corrected, it was a typo which is something that is not at all uncommon for me as anybody can tell from the multiple edits on my posts.

Side note: I'm sure that is a common name/term in Sweden but for the rest of the planet it is a strange ass word and likely to be typed wrong quite often. XD

Scottish Gaelic word, actually. And no, it's nowhere near my name.
My reaction to stg83 was because I had misspelled it when first joining GOG to "ia" rather than "ai" and was curious if the fixed spelling had not propagated to what others saw.
