incinerator20000: "download attempt has been made for the game." This is completely impossible. I have a crappy PC

truhlik: You know that you can download files even in crappy PC?
And depending on the game he could probably play it on his existing home PC too, unless he had something like Witcher 3.

incinerator20000: Please think twice before buying a game from "GOG." Thank you and have a nice day.

tinyE: Unfortunately I've already bought 736 games here, but I'll tell you what, I'll for sure think twice before purchasing #737!
haha, that's exactly what i think every time someone makes a topic like this. i as well will be sure not to buy game nine-hundred-and-something.

Go blame your 'friend' for starting to download the game. And even then, I'm not sure what you have to gripe about. Free game, and you're not able to get the money back for it - money that someone else paid in the first place? Worst case, you're out exactly nothing except the time it took to ask for the refund and the time it took to start this thread - and you'll still have the game in your library for when you DO get a PC that can play it.
Since YOU didn't PAY, you want a refund for your "friend", whom also you happen to hate and want nothing to do with him/her/it anymore?!??!!? My good man, just stop logging into that account and block that person off your social media and life!

Good god, this must be the first time i ever hear about someone asking for a refund, for something not purchased by same individual... Something new you learn each and every day... And here was i pondering and thinking, "now i have seen everything"... I bet this will be my new motto, each and every new day come!

incinerator20000: So I have a "friend" (we're going to call him that for lack of a better term) that I'm trying to get out of my life. He decided to buy me a game on GOG and send me the account information. But as he knows, I do not currently have a PC which can play games. He's trying to leverage me into spending money i'm saving on a computer through various means. I asked politely for them to refund the money and they're claiming that they cannot because a "download attempt has been made for the game." This is completely impossible. I have a crappy PC that I use on occasion at my job which I obviously do not play games on. Other than that I have a tablet I use for reading and such, that it all. It is impossible that I tried to download this game. They don't even say that the game was downloaded they say "an attempt was made." I'm posting this here as a public service to you all to show you what you're dealing with. These people will make every attempt to deny you any kind of refund regardless of what circumstances may arise for you. They do not care about their customers and I will be posting this same thing on every consumer report website I can. Please think twice before buying a game from "GOG." Thank you and have a nice day.
why is GOG the only thing in quotes?
Cool story, bro. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wonder what happened to the OP? XD

I didn't see that. XD

Man, his post just got ten times funnier. XD

I'm sure it's going to make the cover of Consumer Reports:

"EXPOSING COMPANIES THAT REFUSE TO GIVE REFUNDS FOR SHIT YOU DIDN'T BUY"

skimmie: Well I, for one, am very grateful to the OP for creating what has turned into one of the most entertaining threads of the day.
And it's not even about anyones twitter posts!
