Unfortunately Shadow Warrior 2 is one of those games that are only DRM-free for single-player. Multiplayer is DRM-ed via a forced Galaxy dependence. It's in the small print on the store page.

Multiplayer Notice: Please note that the GOG Galaxy Client is required to access Multiplayer.

As others said above, you'll need to run the game through the Galaxy client.
