GameRager: Well, this sucks.

To all: Does anyone know if this affects other stores with telltale games(Like xbox store/etc)?

I ask because it seems like with telltale's folding the eventual loss(to all but shadier sites) of new copies of said games seems to be more likely with each passing day.
If previous removals (Back to the Future, Game of Thrones, Tales of Monkey Island) are any indication, then Minecraft will also disappear from PSN, Steam, XBox and any other official key sellers. In fact, it seems to have already been removed from Steam.

Is GOT gone? Iirc it was still up on xbox 360/xbox1 store the last time I checked(as was Minecraft).

This is sad, though.....in time only shadier sites will still have these games on offer, and those of us who dislike using such sites(who don't have the games) will be SOL. :\

They probably have contracts with the IP holders to sell such for a set period of time that hasn't expired yet.

Yes, GOT is gone. Pages are still up, you can still download the demo, but there is no option to buy any episode or the complete game anymore.

The license-holders themselves have acquired the rights to the games. Then, instead of returning the series to all stores on PC, they decided to make the whole Wallking Dead series a timed Epic exclusive.

No they actually threw cash at them to make TWD exclusive only to the epic store forever.

Also I think skybound studio's who have taken over all the I.P's are making them epic exclusives forever.

Thanks, I appreciate that we we're informed a couple of days in advance instead of a couple of hours.
Will they come back?

The announcement was 2 days ago.

Yes, which is more than a couple of hours, which in my experience is the typical case for GOG. I would have been to late to make a decision if it was like it usually is; this is much better.

Which is not in GOG's power to anticipate the future: the publisher can make a call and cancel an agreement within 2 hours (immediately even). No one in his right mind would waste precious time to withhold the news about game removal only to lose a portion of "last chance" profit and gain negativity from client base.

I don't think it's the last we've ever seen of the Telltale Games that are being delisted. Forever's a long time, man, and money moves mountains. Or is that love? Anyways, probably can't hurt to grab DRM free copies, if you're so inclined. However!!!!! I've played many of their games, and I'm not really 100% sure if they're really worth the full price cash money vs. just plain watching a Youtube video besides maybe Wolf. the Strong Bad game holds a special place in my heart tho. Telltale tanked for a reason, I think.

I was talking about how some stores still sell telltale games, and others don't/have been pulling them. I explained that this is likely due to those stores having license contracts to sell those games that haven't expired yet.

When they DO expire, however, they'll likely become all epic/etc exclusives or vanish entirely...which will be a sad day indeed. :\

Imo I don't think they'd pull games the second they're asked as that might upset those in the process of purchasing when such happened and cause further badwill/pr for GOG.

If the holder of publishing rights (especially after the sudden change from one to another) says (demands) that this or that particular game can no longer be sold in GOG, the latter have the only option to comply the Law. Because any delay may have dire financial and reputation consequences on market. It's in no way about upsetting or not the clients. As for the transactions all pending payments are to be finished (completed / rejected) one way or another, but the cut-off time can't be shifted. If you are talking about the amount of seconds before the appointed manager could find a suitable candidate from IT team to cut the rope then yes, let's assume that's every extra second or minute happenings are because of good will of GOG staff towards us, good clientèle.

As for the Telltale and Microsoft games based on Minecraft series we have a great example of corporate ethics where one market player informs its counter party about agreement termination in advance of 3 calendar days.
Good for them! (not sarcasm).

P.S. I'm not using "imo" because our lives are just the shadows of reality, a long road through a limbo of doubts to the very end, it's all about frigging imo. I'm sorry for my grammar, I'm sorry that GOG can't fix ('already owned') tags, that's about it.

I agree on most of that, but want to add that while companies have to comply to not harm the IP holder's by delaying too long, IP holders/etc have to give a reasonable timeframe to allow for such to happen(for various resons).

Agreed, the notice as more than fair in this case.

I use imo alot because many seem to get perturbed if it seems like you're talking as an authority on a subject when you might not be one. It also shows i'm willing to admit i'm wrong if given proof against one/more of my points and be reasonable.
