Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall!

It's hard to say when our stories become legends, and our legends become a fantasy. Whenever you think about an event from the past, you see it from a different perspective than the others involved — deeper you look, more blurred the lines between winners and defeated parties, heroes and deserters become.

Are you ready for a challenge? History leads us to the paths of knowledge, but only if we dare to answer the call.

Let's begin, shall we?

Play as a brutal Crusader Knight or Arabic freedom fighter in Stronghold Crusader 2 (up to -90% for the base game and DLCs). Lead your forces into battle as either Richard the Lionheart or the Sultan of Syria and become the greatest Lord by managing your desert economy and seizing control of vital oases.

Embark on an Epic Quest that spans both human and demonic realms in Lords of the Fallen Game of the Year Edition (-85%). Plunge into a fast-paced action RPG with a complex and satisfying melee combat system where weapons, armor, and skills directly influence the enemy's speed and attacks... if all else fails, lay waste to your foes using forbidden magic power.

Explore the wilderness and the dungeons of Isle of Nex in Legend of Grimrock 2 (now -60%). Walk in ancient forests riddled with mysterious magical statues, fight the denizens of poison fuming swamps, dive in the Forgotten River in search of treasure, uncover secrets hidden deep below…

If you're more into realistic battles, check out the Sudden Strike series (up to -75%). Discover revolutionary real-time-strategy gameplay set in World War 2. Command Russian, German, French, American and British armies in large scale battles including urban warfare, beach landings and aerial invasions.

The Midweek Sale ends September 14th, 1 PM UTC.

So, Blackguards 2... any opinion? I loved the first one but it seems 2 isn't nearly as appreciated.
Hm, Blackguards is tempting me, it should run on my crutch. But I don`t understand the thing with "Battlemaps". Does this mean. you don`t wander around in search of quests, but instead you choose between different maps, on which the different battles take place?

I'll try to explain...

It's definitely not an open-world game. You have a worldmap where you go to city 'hubs' (they open up more of them over time) and you can collect side quests by talking to NPCs, in addition to your 'main quest'. The combat can happen on places in those 'city hubs' or they can be a sequence of "rooms" in a particular location on the worldmap or even as you travel in between cities / through the worldmap. So, HOW you get to those combat areas are varied (without spoiling much).

EDIT: All the while advancing the story, including "cutscenes" and choosing dialogue options.

Then, when you enter combat, you have a not so big hexed area, and you play as a team turn-based regular game (which I think it's what you mean by 'battlemaps'.

Anyway, overall, I think it's an amazing and engaging game. At least for the first playthrough... I didn't find its replayability very good.

I also loved the first one and bought Blackguards 2 some time ago. I didn't manage to finish it, got a bit bored after 2 hours or so. The gameplay is practically the SAME as the first one, so maybe it's me burning out of these kind of games haha.

I'd still get Blackguards 2 (as I still plan to finish it at some point) if you feel it's discounted and cheap enough.

Anyway, just my opinion (which seems to be shared with others). :/
I wonder why avernum 3 ruined world costs the same in dollars and euros 11.99
Did the euro get weaker or did the dollar get stronger.

Welcome to the "wonders" of regional pricing? That's been the "rule" for EU prices pretty much since the concept appeared. And, you know, one of the things GOG used to stand against, till 5.5 years ago.

It doesn't sound right. Are you sure the price isn't changing when you switch currencies? I've just tired and it works for me.

I just checked it actually costs 13.33 dollars or 11.99 eu.
I was checking the weekly weekend sale thread and there it said it costs 11.99 dollars from the guy posting from poland user ciemnogrodzianin.
Guess it's regional pricing i think

Now I see what you mean in the first place... game's description is very focused on battleground combat. They indeed occupy most of the ingame time and area, so if you are not into turn-and-hex-based combat, you'd def not enjoy the game.

But the description is correct: the battlegrounds are really varied, there are lots of interactive elements on them (nothing like setting barrels on fire for enemies to pass through or having to avoid it), position is important, etc. As I said, most of the battlegrounds are not large (and not time consuming), which to me is actually a plus.

So in terms of combat, I dunno, think of ... XCOM but with smaller areas 'missions' and more RPG elements.
I wonder if Stronghold Crusader 2 ever gets a Complete version. I'd rather get that than assemble the pieces.
