It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

And there was much rejoicing.

Yaaaaaaay.

On a more serious note, we can finally clear out so much legacy code.

I do for testing internet and connection problems. That way I don't have to bork up my firefox settings when I get internet or connection problems. Always practical to have a web browser where everything is standard and not messed with in any way.

Not sure. I think i used IE3&4 for a time back when there there was the browser wars between MS and Netscape... Haven't touched anything since really though. Although if i did use IE i'd turn off all options in the browser, like vbScript, cookies, ActiveX, etc... Effectively making the browser as secure as it could be, although today most sites will complain if you turn everything off or outright refuse to load.
IE11 is simply the best version of IE out there. So I simply don't know of any reason why you'd stay on an older one other than maybe your Windows version isn't able to get any higher than what it got. But even then, as someone above said, IE11 is living on borrowed time as Microsoft Edge gets to mature over time. That or they will keep IE11 in future versions just to keep legacy code in check, and also perhaps because I heard that a part of Windows rely on IE11 for things, though I'm unsure about that for Windows 10.

Quite possibly, however pigeon messaging is still better than using IE. I mean seriously, I have IE9 at work (not my fault), and it doesn't even run Hotmail properly.

There should be a national party day that IE is being removed. Although the others aren't hugely better, what with Firefox's closed box components for example.

yeah ie 11 on borrowed time was in the opening post ;p
as for peopel who still use ie 8 9 and 10 those are most likely regular computer users the facebook crowd peopel who dont care about what their computer can do or what kind of specs they have
all they care about is if they can get online with it check email surf the interwebs and go on facebook and youtube with it

those are the type of people who'd still use older versions because they have to be forced to upgrade
the same kind of people who only upgrade windows when they get a new pc
I guess that's fine, as IE11 runs on Windows 7 too. My work laptop was for some reason using an old version of IE still some months ago (was it even IE 8?), but fortunately my employer updated it some time ago to IE 11. Many sites complained it for being too old, Youtube and gog.com included.

I mostly use Firefox (because it runs on more OSes I use (also Linux and Android) and has some features I like), but it is not perfect either. It does seem somewhat fragile, as getting easily jammed sometimes (that damn "script is not responsing" or such on some sites, fortunately I haven't seen that lately).

The Belgian website for VAT business declarations doesn't work with Firefox (always failing to do the electronic ID verification) so it's the only time we have to use IE.

Belgium frequently seemed like a third-world country regarding technology when I lived in Brussels (in the late 90's).

Isnt Edge just IE with a slightly more robust IE engine?
...but but but, will I still be able to surf on the net with my Windows XP now? (No, I do not do that personally but several friends do.) It seems impossible to convince people to upgrade/change as long as things work in some way. One friend is using an operating system that went out of support 2007ish and the browser that came with that.

seamonkey works on xp.
The problem is the user who: "Change? Why?! It came with the computer and it works?!"
