Still got to buy viking conquest actually - though not heard a lot of good about is thus far - also I told myself I'd wait until I can afford to replace my M&B games with GOG versions (or maybe they'll extend the russian only lock on the "reclaim" thing...)

When it first came out it was kind of meh because of to many bugs... but around the 1.4 update it got pretty good. It's a very nice addition to the M&B series.This update also looks to be a very nice addition adding many things people have been asking for. So I know what I will be doing this weekend assuming GOG get's it out in time. xD

The most attractive thing I can see is the starting as a leader option. It's tiring dragging yourself up from a nobody to a king.

If it has enough bugfixes I may actually buy it.

There was a point where I played Warband for 100 hours without playing anything else intermittently. I haven't been so incline to give undivided attention to a game since.

Viking Conquest hasn't drawn me in like that but hey, I'm still a fan!

I really loved the original Mount and Blade and played it for a few hundred hours last year when I bought it. Tried Warband as everyone raved about how much better it was but I didn't find massive graphic corruption and random crashes to desktop as "better" so never did get into it as of yet. Due to my disappointment with the instability and slow performance of Warband as well as the bad reviews for Viking Conquest claiming it was very buggy I decided to avoid it for the time being as well.

Hopefully they fix both games though as I really enjoyed Mount and Blade and also greatly look forward to Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord when it is released.

It is nice to hear that it is a free update for people who paid for Viking Conquest and not an upgrade or DLC that costs money. Because when Viking Conquest came out, most people confirmed that is was a broken piece of garbage. In the past, I've noticed several publishers and devs, charging people for upgrades or DLC even though the upgrades or DLC were just much needed patches to make the game more acceptable from a technical point of view(fixing low performance issues, removing bugs, increasing stability, fixing broken gameplay, including what was promised at the start). Charging people for patches is an extreme act of douchebaggery. Something even EA would never do. I've decided to boycott several publishers and devs because they started charging people for patches. Fortunately, most publishers and devs have the good sense, not to stoop so low.

So GOG..... you're getting this today, yes?

I don't think they have put it out yet, they just said it would be sometime today... really hoping it's soon though or it will be to late for GOG probably. :/

Cool, I haven't even had time to play anything after Warband. Maybe it's time I pick up M&B again. I only hate fighting with the lance. It's awful... especially on foot...
