[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

Biing!: Sex, Intrigue and Scalpels free on GOG front page.
I claimed this game from within the IndieGala Windows Client (Beta), but it seems this works from the webpage too:

King of Dragon Pass free on Indiegala. Didn't grab it to check, already played the classic from GOG, but it seems to be the new edition, as in the PC port of the mobile version.

You mean they made a PC game, ported it to mobile, and then ported back to PC?

That is a regrettably common pattern, you can find such games even on GOG.

Umm, not exactly.

The poster just noticed that there was a remaster (which was released in 2015) and that version is now also on both GOG (bundled) and Steam. There's a blog that claims the remaster one is the "mobile port", but the original is still retained on GOG as it always has been.

Um, yes. You didn't know that one?
The original was the PC game from '99, which the devs were quite baffled GOG managed to get to work on modern systems since they thought it was impossible because of how it had been originally coded. Then there was the remastered version, which was released on mobile in 2011 and ported to PC in 2015.
When this remaster was released on GOG, it was as a free update for owners of the original, and the original remained as an extra. On other stores, however, I think that just the remaster is available.
Thanks everybody for explaining.
