Breja: Frankly I never understood all the hate for that. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Cry For Justice was great or anything, but I didn't find it that terrible either.

PaterAlf: Yes, it was terrible. One of the worst storylines ever written. The moment you start thinking about the story, it makes absolutely no sense at all.

I don't always agree with him, but Linkara's review about Cry for Justice is pretty accurate and explains everything that was wrong with it:

No way in hell am I spending this much time listening to Linkara :D And there is no way anyone could convince me it's "one of the worst storylines ever written". I've seen way, waaaay worse. Granted, that's not much of a praise, but still. Final Crisis, pretty much the entire Morrison's run in Batman (and Batman & Robin and Return of Bruce Wayne), Civil War, Brightest Day, Clone Saga...and way more stuff I can't even remember now. Next to all that Cry for Justice is really not that bad. At least it's self contained, relatively short and to the point, with mostly good artwork. Really, it's just a mediocre mini-series and I'm amazed people still feel so strongly about it after all this time. Nothing about it warrants even remembering about it six years later.
Marvel's writing can't be spoiled. They just spin a wheel with a few choices (traitor, big spat over something trivial, resurrect, ...), then go with it.
Since we're on the subject of Marvel and events and such stuff- is the 2015 Secret Wars any good? And is the mini-series something self-contained enough for me to read without being up to speed with all the build up to it? I really don't much care about Marvel's day to day stuff, but Secret Wars miniseries itself looked somewhat interesting, like a mix between Crisis on Infinite Earths and Song of Ice & Fire.

I guess our taste in comics is very different. Even if I don't share the praise for Morrison's Batman run, it had at least a meta level and some very good ideas (e.g. I loved the way he brought Bat-Mite back). Same goes for Final Crisis, which was confusing, but had some substance when you wanted to think about it (the only thing I really disliked was that the awful 3-D version of Superman issue). Civil War had a very good idea and was very well written for the most time. And even the clone saga tried at least something new (even if it was too long and contradicted itself in the end).

Cry for Justice was just a piece of shit. It was badly written, made absolutely no sense and sacrified a very good character just to create a shock moment. The only thing that was were the drawings (which probably distracted many readers from the terrible story) even if they were a little too static for my taste.

If you loved that Bat-Mite shit... yeah, I think we're done here :D
So nobody here knows about the "Red Skull" speech from the same comic? that was what I was referring to with the title

sorry for the confusion
the thought of the writer seems to be "a good speech by a bad guy = bad speech" as Hydra is still intended as the baddies as far as I can tell so I didn't think I was spoiling anything
