No hats?
I ask, what kind of microtransaction is that, good sir?

getrdy: The microtransaction bubble is going to pop in a really ugly way, when lawmakers catch up to this kind of borderline gambling targeted at children.
Children? SoM has and ESBR rating "M" (17+) and PEGI 18...
Was wondering wtf "community challenges" were, especially as it's a single player game.

Welp....?

"Avenge your fellow rangers in Online Vendettas to complete this weekend's Community Challenge."
So, it's not just the stupid loot crates that you have to be online for, it's this too?

It''s like the "Physical Challenges" from Double-Dare.

IIRC there was something like this in the 1st one too . You get an in-game event to avenge somebody who was killed by the captain.

Yeah, someone on another forum said that.
Guess I never noticed.
Then again, I couldn't stick the game for long ;)
Oh dear...

SidAlpha condemning a forum mod/publisher for mass censorship, a week after he promised to censor the comments on his own channel...talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

But yeah, big publishers of today are always pulling shady crap like this. These kinds of microtransaction rip offs are disgusting.

fishbaits: Quoted from another forum:

Imagine you are a man that keeps his sanity in the trenches of a world war. Fighting for the freedom of your people and constructing a world and narrative as a love letter to the home that means so much to you. To your surprise people like it, they love it in fact and you see it become THE staple of an entire literary genre for up to this point the rest of time thus far. It is remembered as your magnum opus and the storytelling/worldbuilding multiple generations aspire to even come close to.

and after your death its bastardised into a war glorifying actionfest designed to shill 'micropay freebuys' to children. In a single player game.

Thats a profound level of greasy corporate greed i can't quite quantify but the phrase "spinning in his grave" really rings true with this one.
Sounds just like Neverwinter. Has Valve acquired WB?

I get the Neverwinter reference, but what does Valve have to do with it? Neverwinter is a Cryptic developed game, owned by the parent company Perfect World Entertainment.

Wasn't he just going to censor those that were just ranting though?

I stand corrected. :o

I wouldn't go so far as to call them a "game developer"; more like a shameless cashgrabber, shamelessly ripping off a name with a storied past.

:) I figured that's what you meant. I'm no steam fanboi, but I have a pet peeve about game devs getting recognized ;) Have a good one!
